5 easy steps to set up Amelia Lite Booking System

  1. Go to your WordPress’ admin page, open Amelia -> Services, and add categories and services, as described here.

  2. If you already have a customers database you can easily Import it on the Customers page.

  3. Customize the colors for your booking form on our Customize page.

  4. Add Amelia booking plugin shortcode for the desired booking form to one of your posts or pages. For appointments, add [ameliastepbooking] or [ameliacatalogbooking] shortcode, for events add [ameliaeventslistbooking] shortcode.

    • If on your website, you have different pages for different categories of services or each of your service has a page and you want to show the booking form just for one certain service/category you can use our “Preselect Booking Parameters” option while adding the shortcode to the page or post and select one specific category or service that will be shown for the booking.

Do you have a list of all Amelia Booking System shortcodes?

Yes, here is the list of available shortcodes to show your booking system:

  1. [ameliastepbooking layout=1] – If you offer services and appointments booking and want to show them in a step-by-step booking process.
  2. [ameliacatalogbooking] – If you offer a huge number of services and you want to show them in a Catalog booking view.
  3. [ameliaeventslistbooking] – If you offer event booking, this shortcode will allow you to show events in a form of a list.

Where can I set a schedule?

To set your working hours and assign services to each working period, go to the Settings page, open Company settings and you will see the Working hours tab where you can create different working periods for each day and choose which services will be available for booking in each period.

I have configured my working hours and services but all dates are unavailable on the booking calendar, what should I do?

The reason for this can be if your services have a duration longer than your working periods are, if a service cannot fit in the working period that date will be shown as unavailable on the calendar.

Do you have integrations with page builders?

Yes, of course, besides the Classic Editor and Gutenberg blocks, you can also use Divi and Elementor page builders to set up your booking form.

Can I use the Amelia booking system in other languages?

At the moment, Amelia Booking System has German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Belgian, Swedish, Norwegian, Catalonian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Arabic, Slovak, Finnish, Japanese, Polish, Czech, Hebrew, Russian and Chinese translations.

Why doesn’t the color, configured in “Customize” apply to the front-end?

When you apply a new style (change colors and font styles for the booking form) in the “Customize” section, you will need to delete the stored cache in your browser, for the changes to be visible on the front end. That is – the change is already there, and you can see it if you open an Incognito window, it’s just that the current browser session stored a cache with old style, and it needs to be clear for you to see it.

I configured Notification settings, why aren’t the emails being sent?

Some hosting providers don’t allow 3rd party SMTP settings (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.) to be saved, and are intentionally blocking them because they use their own. If you configured the Notification Settings, and your emails are not being sent, please contact your hosting provider, and ask them if they are blocking the SMTP.

Where do I report security bugs found in this plugin?

Please report security bugs found in the source code of the Amelia plugin through the Patchstack Vulnerability Disclosure Program. The Patchstack team will assist you with verification, CVE assignment, and notify the developers of this plugin.

Solid plugin, but documentation could be clearer

Amelia is a powerful and professional booking tool with a great ui. However, I struggled to implement specific functionality because the documentation isnt clear enough about the available attributes. Support is helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Its a great plugin, but it needs better developer documentation.

Amelia has been a good experience so far, I have been using it for more than 6 months now !

Here are the good points :

  • google calendar sync (works fine)
  • payment systems (easy to setup)
  • it is easy to add collaborators/services
  • The notifications system is very convenient

Here are the points which needs to be improved and the lasts updates are already going in the right direction imo :

  • Backend UI is not always intuitive specially the way some buttons are implemented
  • It lacks some flexibility for solopreneurs, specially if you need to manage your calendar day to day
  • widget UX customization is too limited if you don't know how to use CSS

I am a web developer and at the same time a beauty salon administrator. We have been using this module for more than 2 years and we recommend it.

There are various external sites on the market that offer scheduling systems at low costs…but none of them compare to the complexity of the Amelia module.
Again, you have a benefit when the scheduling is done on your own site and not on an external site. You can track conversions, edit the module, etc…

Any small issue I had, the support team was prompt and solved any problem.

I used Amelia for nearly two years. I purchased a lifetime license for 5 websites, but unfortunately I was never able to get it working exactly the way I needed. In the end, I switched to Fluent Booking, which I now use regularly. It is much easier to set up, better integrated, and has a more modern dashboard and store experience.

I would strongly suggest that the developers consider improving integration with other plugins, for example Fluent Products, Fluent Cart, and Fluent Community. At the moment, Amelia mainly focuses on integration with WooCommerce, but I personally don’t use WooCommerce because it is too heavy for my projects.

While Amelia offers many features and a powerful dashboard, the design feels outdated and I sometimes struggle to find a practical use for all the available functions. In addition, updates seem to come quite rarely and the improvements are not very significant.

This plugin has great potential, but in my opinion, it still needs more development, better modern integrations, and a stronger focus on user experience.

Amelia exceeded my expectations.
