Angry Bloat Cleaner for WooCommerce
Angry Bloat Cleaner for WooCommerce
Description
WooCommerce loads its scripts and styles on every page, fills wp-admin with promotions and dashboards, and keeps background jobs and logs around for a month. Most stores don’t need all of it.
Angry Bloat Cleaner gives you about 15 clear on/off switches. Every switch tells you what you gain and what you lose, in plain language, and is marked Safe or Caution. Nothing is on until you turn it on.
Frontend
- Load WooCommerce styles only on shop pages (shop, product, cart, checkout, My Account)
- Load WooCommerce scripts only on shop pages
- Disable cart fragments outside the cart and checkout
- Remove the password strength meter from checkout
- Turn off order attribution tracking (WooCommerce’s own setting, shown here for convenience)
- Remove the WooCommerce generator meta tag
Pages with a WooCommerce shortcode or block are detected automatically, and you can list any other page in the exclusions.
Admin
- Disable marketplace suggestions and promotions
- Disable the Marketing hub
- Disable remote inbox notifications
- Disable payment gateway suggestions
- Disable WooCommerce Analytics (and its background order sync)
- Remove the WooCommerce dashboard widgets
- Hide the WooCommerce.com “connect your store” notices
Background
- Keep finished Action Scheduler jobs for 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days instead of about a month
- Clean up old completed and cancelled scheduled actions (and their logs) with one button, in small batches, never touching pending or failed ones
- Disable background thumbnail regeneration
Measure the difference
The “Measure” button loads your homepage (or any page) twice, with and without your toggles, and shows how many scripts and styles were removed and which ones.
Built to be safe
- Everything is a WordPress filter, action or dequeue. The plugin never edits WooCommerce files.
- Deactivate the plugin and WooCommerce behaves exactly as before.
- Presets: Safe (only safe toggles) and Aggressive (everything), with a preview of what changes before you apply.
- No tracking, no external requests, no data sent anywhere.
Installation
- Install and activate the plugin (WooCommerce must be active).
- Go to WooCommerce Bloat Cleaner.
- Start with the Safe preset, or switch on the toggles you want and press Save changes.
- Press Measure to see what was removed from your homepage.
Faq
Toggles marked Safe only remove things you won’t miss. Toggles marked Caution can affect pages that show products outside the shop, so each one explains what to check. Every toggle is off by default, and turning it off (or deactivating the plugin) restores WooCommerce’s normal behaviour immediately. Test on a staging copy first if you can.
The “only on shop pages” toggles automatically detect WooCommerce shortcodes and blocks in the page content. Content built with page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and others) is stored differently and is not detected. If you show products or add-to-cart buttons on such pages, add them to the exclusion list (by page ID or slug), or leave those two toggles off.
Yes. After changing toggles, clear your page cache so visitors get the lighter pages.
Measuring loads your own site from the server (a “loopback” request). Some hosts block this, and some caching plugins or CDNs serve a cached copy. Exclude URLs containing angry_bc_audit from your cache, or compare the page source manually.
Only the optional Action Scheduler cleanup deletes data: completed and cancelled scheduled actions older than the retention period, plus their log entries. Pending, in-progress and failed actions are never touched. Everything else just switches features off.
Its own settings, notices and temporary data are removed. The order attribution setting belongs to WooCommerce and stays as you last set it.
A small page that lists the Angry Parrot plugins installed on your site, with a link to each one’s settings, plus our other plugins. It is built into the plugin (no remote requests) and is shared: with several Angry Parrot plugins installed you still get one menu.
No. It makes no external requests and has no tracking. The only request it makes is the optional loopback to your own site when you press “Measure”.
