  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/auto-image-alt-generator/ directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress Plugins Add New screen.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
  3. Upload a new image to your Media Library — alt text will be automatically added if left empty.

Does this plugin replace my existing alt text?

No. It only adds alt text when an image has none.

What kind of text does it generate?

It converts the image filename into human-readable text.
Example: my-product-photo.png “My Product Photo”.

Does it work with all image formats?

Yes, it supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP formats.

Does it require any external services or APIs?

No. Everything runs locally within WordPress.
