Installation

Extract auto-publish-tumblr.zip to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
In the admin panel under plugins activate WP Tumblr Auto Publish.
You can configure the settings from WP Tumblr Auto Publish menu. (Make sure to Authorize Tumblr application after saving the settings.)
Once these are done, posts should get automatically published based on your filter settings.

1. The WP Tumblr Auto Publish is not working properly.

Please check the wordpress version you are using. Make sure it meets the minimum version recommended by us. Make sure all files of the wp tumblr auto publish plugin are uploaded to the folder wp-content/plugins/

2. How do I restrict auto publish to certain categories ?

Yes, you can specify the categories which need to be auto published from settings page.

3. Why do I have to create applications in Tumblr ?

When you create your own applications, it ensures that the posts to Tumblr are not shared with any message like “shared via xxx”

4. Which all data fields can I send to social networks ?

You may use post title, content, excerpt, permalink, site title, user nicename and user displayname for auto publishing.

5. Why do I see SSL related errors in logs ?

SSL peer verification may not be functioning in your server. Please turn off SSL peer verification in settings of plugin and try again.

6. Can I publish audio/video to tumblr ?

You need to purchase the premium version to use this feature.

It was a good plugin , very useful and saved for me a lot of time

not its time to delete, due only php 8 is working

Total rubbish. It's unusable unless it's PHP 8 or later, so I'm trying to delete the plugin, and it won't.

PHP 8.0 Required?

Unfortunately, the PHP 5 compatibility doesn't seem to apply, as I got this error message below: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.0.2".

I installed this Plugin. Nowhere was to reed, that is only for PHP8.0. When i activate the plugin i get a white page and the failure message for "only PHP8.0". It is not down-compatible with PHP 7.4. So i wrote an email to the programmers and get a friendly "sorry". That was all. It is the first time, it's the first time I've installed such a dangerous plugin. I cannot deinstall it, i cannot activate it! and since then I can no longer import products from my POD operator into the shop. No works, no support - bad thing. Thanks for nothing, and hands off of this Plugin!!! cayuco

Tumblr doesn't work that way anymore

I'm guessing this app hasn't actually been updated in awhile. Because the steps to get an API key from Tumblr are different now and doesn't let you anymore. That's a shame, but whatever.
