  1. Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate the plugin from the WordPress admin panel.
  3. Configure settings under Settings Auto Thumbnails.

Will it overwrite my existing thumbnails?

No, it only works when no thumbnail is set, or when updating an auto-generated one.

Can I change the colors?

Yes, you can set background and font colors in the settings.
