Purpose:
The BorgHive API handles all communication between your website’s chatbot and the BorgHive platform.
It allows the chatbot to process user inputs, verify configuration settings, and return AI-generated responses in real time.
When the service is used:
1. During setup:
When you enter your Website Chatbot ID in the plugin settings, the plugin securely connects to the BorgHive API endpoint
(https://borghive.ai/db/website_chatbot_connections/exists-connection/{chatbot_id})
to verify whether the provided ID exists and is valid.
This request ensures that only authorized and active chatbots can be embedded on your site.
- During user interactions:
Every time a visitor interacts with the chatbot widget on your website, the plugin connects to the BorgHive API to send the user’s message and receive a generated AI response.
Data sent to the service:
When a user interacts with the chatbot widget, the following data is securely transmitted to the BorgHive API:
– The content of the user’s message (text, image, or audio)
– The user’s IP address (used for security and abuse prevention)
– The browser’s preferred language (used to improve language detection and response accuracy)
During the initial verification step, only the chatbot ID entered by the site administrator is sent for validation.
No user-specific data or personal information is transmitted during this step.
Data storage and visibility:
Text messages exchanged with the chatbot may be stored within the BorgHive system for internal analytics and performance improvement of the assistant.
These stored messages are only accessible to the company that created and manages the chatbot and are not shared or sold to any third parties.
Image and audio data are processed temporarily and are not permanently stored.

Installation
- From your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Plugins Add New.
- In the search bar, type “BorgHive Chatbot” and locate the plugin published by BorgHive.
- Click Install Now, then click Activate once the installation is complete.
- After activation, go to Settings BorgHive Chatbot in your WordPress dashboard.
- In the settings page, enter your Website Chatbot ID (available in your BorgHive account).
- Click Save Settings — the chatbot will be automatically embedded across your website.
