How It Works

  1. Connect — Paste your API key from categorix.ai. Your store’s categories are synced to the AI automatically.
  2. Categorize — Run the Bulk Cleanup Wizard from the dashboard. The AI processes your products in the background using WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler.
  3. Review — High-confidence matches (90%+) are applied instantly. Lower confidence suggestions appear in the Review Queue for your approval.
  4. Relax — New products are categorized automatically. Your catalog stays clean.

Sign up at categorix.ai.

  1. Upload the categorix-woocommerce-ai folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Go to CategoriX > Settings and paste your API key.
  4. Click Save & Connect. Your categories will sync automatically.
  5. Go to CategoriX > Dashboard and run the Bulk Cleanup Wizard.
Do I need a CategoriX account?

Yes. The AI categorization is powered by the CategoriX cloud service. You can sign up for a free account at categorix.ai which includes 50 product credits per month.

Will it overwrite my existing categories?

By default, CategoriX only processes products in the “Uncategorized” category. The Safety Lock feature prevents the AI from overwriting products that you’ve manually categorized. You can also choose to re-categorize all products if needed.

How accurate is the AI?

Accuracy depends on your product data quality. Products with clear titles and descriptions typically get 90%+ confidence. The confidence threshold system ensures that uncertain matches are sent to you for review rather than being applied automatically.

Does it work with large catalogs?

Yes. CategoriX uses WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler to process products in the background in batches of 100. It handles stores with thousands of products without causing timeouts.

Can I undo the changes?

Yes. Every change is tracked. You can revert individual products or an entire batch from the Review Queue.

What data is sent to the API?

Product name, description, brand (if available), current category, and product attributes are sent to the CategoriX API for classification. No customer data, order data, or payment information is ever transmitted.
