Installation

Upload the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Configure the table of contents behaviour and appearance in the plugin settings.
Start editing post or page where you want to display TOC.
Find the metabox “CM Table of Contents” and check the option “Enable Table of Contents on this post/page”.
Save the settings.

Aweful customer service

I bought the pro version of the plugin and within an hour I realized I couldn't use it most likely because of a conflict of another plugin. Asked for my money back instantly (they claim to believe in their products so much that they offer Money Back Guarantee) but as it turns out, that's actually not the case. They only offer you your money back if you give them access to your website and they determine whether or not the plugin works. They asked me for the exact plugin that's causing the conflict but I couldn't really inspect that properly in an hour from when I bought the plugin until I contacted them. I have a sneaky suspicion of what it is but in all honesty that shouldn't matter. I have been using WordPress since the very beginning and in that time I've bought A LOT of premium plugins and themes and it has happened on occasions that something doesn't work together. In all other instances have I just got my money back - no questions asked. This isn't really a review about the plugin itself which I'm sure works fine for most but their customer service, the deceptive Money-Back Guarantee and their unwillingness to budge from their somewhat hidden terms, which by the way are not a law of nature. You can choose to offer a good service regardless.

Discards images?

It works great in general. However on a couple of posts it stops the display of all images when it is set on… I haven't found the code combination that produces this bug.

Simple & Effective!

Works straight out of the box - just install and click on the tickbox bottom of each page. Don't even need to bother with the shortcode unless you want to move the table. Definitely recommend this plugin. Don't just move on because it hasn't got five stars either!

Highly limited in free

as with every other tinpot capitalising WP plugin author, this draws you in with good spiel only to learn that it's highly limited in the free version. Honestly, people like this are draining the life out of the internet dollar by dollar.

I installed CM Table of Contents on my website, hoping that it would display TOCs of my 900+ page (when printed to a PDF) documentation. I was very pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation, setup, and production-ready Tables of Content on my site. When I discovered a Bug in the hierarchical numbering scheme, the developers had a fix prepared in 4 days. When I submitted a Feature Request for a different parent/child TOC sorting method, the developers responded with an enhancement the following week. Support doesn't get much better than this! -larry

The best table of content WordPress Plugin. Extremely highly custmizable. The only one that recognizes pagination.
Also, the technical support team is very efficient and knowlegable.
After researching for months, CM table of contents plugin was the solution.
I highly recommend it to anyone who has complicated post structure or long posts and wants a perfect table of contents plugin.

Great Service and Quality Plugin

I was looking for a table of contents plugin that was smart enough to accommodate a variety of knowledge base style posts and this one fit the bill. There were a few technical glitches in the first try but the support team was exceptionally responsive and listened and acted very quickly to my needs. In addition to the basic functionality, it also provides great styling options and the ability to be used in the body of the text as well as in widget areas. I would recommend going for the premium version as it offers more functionality for a reasonable price.

a Smart plugin!

This is a simple, but powerful and smart plugin! Unlike the others, they are too simple and not useful as this one. It detects the headers by itself, and make it anywhere as we wanted!

However, multilingual supported will be much appreciated. I have a 3 languages site, and using Polylang. If we could change the text of "The Table of Content" in different language, it will be much much appreciated.!
