Privacy notices
With the default configuration, this plugin, in itself, does not:
- track users by stealth;
- write any user personal data to the database;
- send any data to external servers;
- use cookies.
If you activate certain features in this plugin, the contact form submitter’s personal data, including their IP address, may be sent to the service provider. Thus, confirming the provider’s privacy policy is recommended. These features include:
- reCAPTCHA (Google)
- Akismet (Automattic)
- Constant Contact
- Brevo
- Stripe
- Turnstile (Cloudflare)
Installation
- Upload the entire
contact-form-7folder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen (Plugins > Installed Plugins).
You will find Contact menu in your WordPress admin screen.

Using for a decade without issue

Excellent plugin! Using for a decade in all of my sites without issue.
The only time I was upset with this plugin was when the reCAPTCHA v2 support was removed. Fixed that by installing another plugin to add reCAPTCHA v2. I am not sure if the reCAPTCHA was doing any help, as I continued to receive spam submissions (likely manually submitted). I have now removed reCAPTCHA completely and replaced it with the CloudFlare Turnstile, which has built-in support in CF7 and appears to be working perfectly so far.
Thanks for developing and maintaining such a great plugin and keeping it free!

I have been using this plugin for years, but I’ve encountered an issue with receiving a 429 Too Many Requests error while submitting forms on GoDaddy hosting. I submitted a support ticket, but haven’t received any response for the past three months. Due to this issue, I’ve had to replace the contact form with an alternative on many websites.
