Description

CorvoWP Subscriptions for WooCommerce adds subscription products, membership access control and subscriber management to WooCommerce.

Create a WooCommerce product, enable it as a subscription, link it to a membership level and choose monthly or yearly billing. After the first successful payment, the plugin creates the subscriber record, grants membership access and tracks the next renewal date.

With Free, renewals are manual. When payment is due, the plugin creates a WooCommerce renewal order and emails the customer a secure pay-for-order link. The customer can pay using any eligible payment gateway available for that WooCommerce order.

PayFast Recurring Billing (Premium)

Premium uses PayFast to handle the automatic recurring charge schedule. CorvoWP Subscriptions verifies payment notifications, records successful renewals in WooCommerce and keeps membership access in sync.

The integration does not ask merchants to enter PayFast credentials twice. It reads the Merchant ID, Merchant Key, Security Passphrase and Sandbox/Live setting from the official WooCommerce PayFast gateway.

Automatic PayFast subscriptions currently require the official WooCommerce PayFast gateway, a recurring-enabled PayFast account, ZAR, an eligible simple virtual subscription product and a customer account. Test recurring billing in PayFast Sandbox before going live.

Membership & Access Control

Membership levels determine what active subscribers can access. Multiple subscription products can grant the same membership level, so a monthly and yearly product can provide the same access.

Access Control can restrict:

✅ Pages
✅ Posts
✅ WooCommerce products
✅ Supported public custom post types
✅ Categories and tags
✅ WooCommerce product categories and tags
✅ Other supported public taxonomy archives
✅ Classic WordPress menu items

Access Control protects WordPress content and supported archives. It does not turn uploaded media files into private file storage, so direct media-file URLs may still be accessible.

Getting Started

  1. Create a membership level under Subscriptions > Membership Levels.
  2. Create or edit a simple WooCommerce product and set the recurring price as the normal product price.
  3. Enable Subscription product in Product Data > General, then choose the membership level and monthly or yearly billing interval.
  4. Leave Renewal payment set to Manual in the Free plugin. Manual renewals create a WooCommerce order and email the customer a secure payment link.
  5. Use Subscriptions > Access Control to choose which pages, posts, products, taxonomies or classic menu items require an active membership.
  6. Configure reminder timing and access-denied behaviour under Subscriptions > Settings.
  7. Place [corvowp_subs_my_subscriptions] on a customer-facing page if you want a dedicated subscription summary outside WooCommerce My Account.
  8. Run a complete test purchase and manual renewal before accepting live subscribers.

The separate Premium add-on can register automatic recurring billing adapters. PayFast recurring billing is the first supported automatic adapter.

Privacy

CorvoWP Subscriptions stores subscription and membership information locally in the WordPress database. This may include WordPress user IDs, WooCommerce product and order references, membership assignments, subscription status, billing mode, amount, renewal dates and reminder status.

The plugin uses the customer’s WordPress account and email address for membership access and renewal reminders. Payment card details are not stored by CorvoWP Subscriptions.

The Free plugin does not send subscription, customer or licensing data to CorvoWP.

External Services

The Free plugin does not contact CorvoWP or another external service for licensing or core subscription functionality.

When a customer pays a manual renewal order, the WooCommerce payment gateway they select may communicate with its own payment service according to that gateway’s configuration, privacy policy and terms. Those requests are handled by the selected gateway, not by the Free CorvoWP Subscriptions plugin.

The separate Premium add-on communicates with PayFast when its recurring adapter is enabled.

Is the Free version usable without Premium?

Yes. Free includes subscription products, membership levels, access control, subscriber management, reminder emails and manual WooCommerce renewal orders.

How do manual renewals work?

When a manual subscription reaches its renewal date, the plugin creates a WooCommerce renewal order and emails the customer a secure pay-for-order link. The customer can use any eligible payment gateway available for that order.

Can customers use PayFast for a manual renewal in Free?

Yes, if a normal PayFast gateway is enabled and available for the WooCommerce renewal order. Free does not automatically charge the customer’s payment method.

Does Free support automatic recurring payments?

No. Automatic recurring billing is provided by CorvoWP Subscriptions for WooCommerce Premium. PayFast is the first supported automatic recurring gateway.

Do I need to enter PayFast credentials again in Premium?

No. Premium reads the required merchant configuration from the official WooCommerce PayFast gateway.

Does the Free plugin require a license key?

No. The WordPress.org Free plugin does not require a CorvoWP account or license key.

Does access control depend on a page builder?

No. The plugin restricts complete WordPress content items such as pages, posts and WooCommerce products. It does not provide per-element visibility controls inside page builders.

Are uploaded media files protected?

No. Access Control does not make direct Media Library file URLs private.
