Custom Related Products for WooCommerce lets you choose which products should show in the related products area on a product detail page instead of simply showing products from the same category. Take control of your detail views and show the products that you want!

How to use:

Edit any product. Under Linked Products you will now have a Related Products selector alongside the Cross-Sells and Upsells.
Select some products and save.
As long as your theme has a related products section, you’re done! By default all WooCommerce themes have this, so unless your theme specifically disables it you’re all set.
If you don’t select related products for any product, it will fall back to the WooCommerce default behavior of selecting random products by category. If you’d prefer to show no products you can configure that under WooCommerce > Custom Related Products.

This plugin has been tested with WooCommerce through version 10.

Installation

Download Custom Related Products for WooCommerce.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Configure under WooCommerce > Custom Related Products

This plugin did not get an update in 4 years. So it is likely not a really safe pick. But the source code looks clear and great. Would love to see an update of this. For me, I copied over the source code, modified it a bit and will use it that way. It is just about 100 lines of code - well done

I don't know how Woocommerce by default picks related products, but they have never been very related, if at all for my store. So this plugin solves a problem. It works perfectly. Don't know what else to say, it's a great addition. And should be a necessary plugin for any Woocommerce store. Plus, I sure appreciate the author being around to provide support and release new versions. Awesome.

This plugin does exactly what the description says. It works great, and is a must have if you need to display specific related products rather that ones chosen at random. Great support too! The plugin did not work after I upgraded to WooCommerce 3.0, so I contacted the author who quickly fixed the issue. Great job! I highly recommend this plugin.
