Notes

• Neither Amazon nor eBay returns star ratings through their APIs, so add ratings, badges and pros/cons yourself after importing.
• Amazon retired its old Product Advertising API on 15 May 2026. This plugin uses the replacement Creators API, so old AWS keys will not work. Amazon requires 10 qualifying sales in the trailing 30 days to keep API access active.
• Amazon’s operating agreement requires displayed prices to be current. Keep Auto-Sync on, or update prices periodically.
• Optional: Settings > General has a “Credits: DZW” checkbox that adds a small link to dailyzerowaste.com at the bottom-left of cards, tables and popups. It is off by default and entirely your choice.
• Add an affiliate disclosure on pages that use this plugin. The [dzwapc_disclosure] shortcode is there for this.
• WP-Cron only runs when someone visits your site. On a quiet site, use a real server cron hitting wp-cron.php for reliable sync timing.

External services

Core features (manual products, layouts, shortcodes, click tracking, disclosure) run entirely on your own site and contact nothing external. These services are used only by optional features you configure:

Amazon Creators API (Amazon)
Used only if you enter Amazon credentials under Settings > Amazon and use Import Products or Auto-Sync. Your Amazon credentials and search terms or ASINs are sent to api.amazon.com and creatorsapi.amazon to retrieve product data.

eBay APIs (eBay)
Used only if you enter eBay credentials under Settings > eBay and use Import Products or Auto-Sync. Your eBay application credentials and search terms or item IDs are sent to api.ebay.com (or api.sandbox.ebay.com in sandbox mode) to retrieve product data.

ipapi.co (ipapi.co, a third party)
Used only if you enable Geo Links, and only as a fallback when your host or CDN does not already supply the visitor’s country (Cloudflare, CloudFront and similar are checked first). In that case the visitor’s IP address is sent to ipapi.co to determine their country. Results are cached for 24 hours.

1. Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install it from Plugins > Add New.
2. Activate it through the Plugins screen.
3. Open the new Affiliate Cards menu and choose Add New to create your first product.
4. Set a Featured Image, fill in the details box, and publish.
5. Insert it with a Gutenberg block, or use Affiliate Cards > Shortcode Builder to copy a shortcode.

For Amazon or eBay import, add your credentials under Affiliate Cards > Settings.

Does this plugin require a license or subscription?

No. Every feature is free. Amazon and eBay import need your own free Associates / Partner Network credentials.

Why can’t I import star ratings from Amazon or eBay?

Neither API provides customer ratings. Enter ratings yourself on each product. Auto-Sync never overwrites them.

Why do my buttons link to my own site first?

That is click tracking. The link logs the click, then redirects instantly to the affiliate URL. You can turn it off under Settings > General, but Geo Links needs it on.

Do geo links work with caching plugins and CDNs?

Yes. The destination is chosen inside the redirect, which is never cached, not in the page HTML.

Will I earn commission on Amazon stores in other countries?

Only where you have joined that country’s Associates programme. Geo Links only redirects to countries where you enter a tracking tag.

Does the plugin put a link to your website on my pages?

Only if you turn it on. Settings > General has a “Credits: DZW” checkbox, off by default.

Does the plugin add the required affiliate disclosure?

Use the [dzwapc_disclosure] shortcode and edit the text under Settings > General.
