Developing Philosopher Support Pill
Developing Philosopher Support Pill
Description
Developing Philosopher Support Pill gives your readers one quiet way to support your work. It sits in the corner as a single labelled button and stays that way until someone taps it, then opens to the donation links you have chosen. No banner across the page, no third-party script, nothing competing for attention while people read.
It is made for writers, makers, and small sites that want to invite support without turning a page into a fundraising drive. You decide the wording and the links, and the button does nothing else.
Everything is set under Settings > Support pill:
- The title shown on the closed button, in your own words.
- A simple on and off switch.
- Any number of donation methods, each a label and a link: Ko-fi, PayPal, Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon, a bank page, whatever you use.
The button appears only once it is switched on and has at least one link, so your site stays untouched until you are ready. It collects nothing, makes no external requests, and loads its small stylesheet and script only on the pages where it is shown. Its colours follow your theme when the theme offers them, in both light and dark, and fall back to quiet defaults otherwise.
Installation
- In your admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and choose the plugin zip, or search for it once it is in the directory.
- Activate the plugin.
- Go to Settings > Support pill. Set a title, tick to show the button, add one or more donation methods, and save.
Faq
No. It only outputs the links you configure, and it makes no external requests.
It appears only when it is switched on and has at least one donation method with a link. Check both under Settings > Support pill.
Yes. Add as many labelled links as you like with the Add method button.
From your active theme’s colour variables when it provides them, otherwise from built in defaults. This lets it match themes that expose those variables, in both light and dark.
