The Gutenberg Block inserter can quickly become cluttered. There are currently over 200 free blocks available, in addition to the 34 core blocks. This plugin allows you to disable the blocks you or your clients don’t need.

  • Add search function to the block list.
  • Add ‘enabled/disabled’ filter to block list.
  • Add ‘Block Author’ filter to block list.

If you find a block you can’t disable using this plugin, please create a support thread.

Supports

Upload ‘Disable Gutenberg Blocks’, activate it, and you’re done!

Navigate to wp-admin -> Settings -> Disable Blocks to use the plugin.

This plugin is not getting updates in a year. It also causes the Gutenberg editor to crash. Avoid.

The plugin made it super simple to disable some of the blocks that I wanted to be kept away from the general editors to avoid confusion. WOW, it just needed a click and done. Thank you for this amazing work!

I love how it's so easy to disable blocks in order to clean up the block inserter a bit - and more importantly, ensure that only relevant blocks are available. Great job Danny!
