Description

eChurch Digital Follow-Up helps church administrators collect contact details from people who choose to connect with the church and manage follow-up within WordPress.

Features:
* Visitor form with name and email, optional phone, optional Short Message (up to 300 characters), and an optional marketing-email consent checkbox.
* A shortcode for website visitors and in-person QR landing pages.
* A visitor directory with statuses and internal follow-up notes.
* Administrator CSV export and per-visitor deletion.
* Optional email notifications using the site’s WordPress email configuration.
* Branding and mobile-responsive form styling.

WordPress email acceptance does not guarantee inbox delivery. A properly configured email-sending service may be required. The plugin generates QR images locally in your browser using the saved public connection page URL. Download a PNG for everyday use or an SVG for large-format printing.

The plugin does not require an external service to collect visitor details. This free version does not connect to Brevo or another email automation provider.

Privacy

The plugin stores submitted names, email addresses, optional phone numbers, optional visitor messages, the email-updates consent selection, submission source, follow-up status, internal notes, and submission date in the church’s WordPress database. Its privacy-policy suggestion can be reviewed under WordPress Settings > Privacy. An authorized administrator controls export and deletion. Visitor data is also available through the WordPress personal data export and erasure tools. When enabled, WordPress email notifications may be delivered through the site’s configured mail service. The plugin does not send submission data to the developer or Brevo. Each site operator should publish an accurate privacy notice, decide retention periods, and respond to applicable privacy requests.

Source Code and Build Instructions

The custom dashboard.js, qr-download.js and message-preview.js files in this plugin are
provided as uncompressed, human-readable JavaScript source. The CSS files are also
uncompressed source. No npm, webpack, compiler, or minification step is required.

The bundled qr-vendor.js uses the human-readable QRCode for JavaScript library by
Kazuhiko Arase. Original source: https://github.com/kazuhikoarase/qrcode-generator
The upstream distribution is available at https://github.com/gtanner/qrcode-terminal
Licensing details are included in QR-LICENSES.txt and QR-APACHE-LICENSE.txt.

  1. Install and activate the plugin.
  2. Open Church Follow-Up > Branding & Forms and configure the church name and privacy policy URL.
  3. Create a public page with [ecd_followup_form].
  4. Save your published form page URL under Branding & Forms to generate and download your QR code. Optionally use [ecd_followup_form source=”qr”] on a separate page to label those submissions as QR visitors.
  5. Open Church Follow-Up > Visitors to view, export, or delete records.
  6. Open Welcome Messages to configure and test WordPress email delivery. New installations begin with automatic messages disabled. A successful send test is required before turning them on; confirm the test message arrives in your inbox.
Is a Brevo account required?

No. The free plugin stores submissions in the church’s WordPress database.

Are email notifications guaranteed?

No. WordPress mail delivery depends on the site’s mail configuration and host/provider.

Does the plugin generate QR images?

Yes. Enter and save the public connection page URL under Branding & Forms to preview and download PNG or SVG QR codes.

Where are visitor records stored?

In a custom database table on the church’s WordPress installation. Administrators can export records or delete individual visitors in the plugin dashboard. Deactivation does not erase records.

0.2.14

  • Format the visitor table schema as a multiline dbDelta statement to avoid a spurious default-value ALTER on the auto-increment ID during activation. No schema or visitor workflow changes.

0.2.13

  • Use the WordPress admin page hook rather than request query parameters to enqueue settings and email-preview scripts.
  • Resolve the six reported read-only nonce-verification warnings without changing visitor form security.

0.2.12

  • Provide readable first-party JavaScript source for the dashboard, QR code and email previews.
  • Load all admin JavaScript through WordPress enqueue functions rather than printed script tags.
  • Document the source and build process for WordPress.org review.

0.2.11

  • Improve short-message typing contrast across mobile devices and WordPress themes.

0.2.10

  • Built-in welcome heading and concise message on every connection card, with compact mobile spacing. Existing custom text is preserved.

0.2.9

  • Clarified documented uncached visitor deletion and status updates for Plugin Check; no runtime behavior changes.

  • Documented tightly scoped WordPress coding-standard exceptions for read-only URL status values and direct access to the plugin-owned visitor table. No visitor-facing changes.

0.2.7

  • Use WordPress database identifier placeholders for visitor-table queries (WordPress 6.2 or newer).
  • Normalize honeypot input before evaluating spam submissions.
  • Preserve the established visitor dashboard, email settings, QR downloads, and form flow.

0.2.6

  • Harden public request handling for QR form source, honeypot, consent, and submission rate-limiting input; keep the existing feature set unchanged.

0.2.5

  • Align translation text domain with the existing MVP installation directory for safe update testing. No changes to visitor workflows.

0.2.4

  • Align packaged directory and WordPress text domain; remove duplicate case-variant README file.
  • Clarify handling of submitted source and request IP; remove an unnecessary output-stream close.
  • Maintain all existing visitor data and settings.

0.2.3

  • Clarify administrator-derived default sender, notification, and test email settings.
  • Require a successful WordPress send test from the configured sender before new installations enable automatic emails; existing enabled sites are not disabled by this update.

0.2.2

  • Compliance-only release preparation: align plugin and asset versions, clarify documentation, and consolidate changelog history. No visitor-facing feature changes.

0.2.1

  • Improve admin dashboard navigation and branding and email settings page presentation.

0.2.0

  • Refresh visitor dashboard, summary counters, setup guide, and visitor directory presentation.

0.1.9

  • Add optional Short Message field, submission throttling, and WordPress personal-data export and erasure support.

0.1.8

  • Reduce dashboard QR preview size and add Copy Connection Link.

0.1.7

  • Add locally generated QR codes with PNG and SVG downloads.

0.1.6

  • Add privacy-policy suggestion, admin visitor CSV export and deletion, and license metadata.

0.1.5

  • Improve mobile form confirmation behavior.
