EgyDevInfo Egypt Cities & Shipping Rates for WooCommerce
EgyDevInfo Egypt Cities & Shipping Rates for WooCommerce
Description
Built for Egyptian WooCommerce stores. WooCommerce shipping zones can only match a country, a state or a postcode, so they cannot charge Stanley differently from Agamy inside Alexandria. This plugin adds that missing level.
What it does
- Shows a city / district dropdown (396 cities in all 27 governorates, Arabic and English names) when the customer picks an Egyptian governorate.
- Adds the shipping method Egypt Rates by Location. Put it in your Egypt shipping zone, then set prices under WooCommerce > Egypt Rates.
- One price per governorate, and an optional different price for any city. A city price wins over its governorate price.
- Bulk tools: select several cities, type one price, apply. Or copy the table to Excel / Google Sheets, edit the price column and paste it back.
- Optional default price and free-delivery threshold on the shipping method.
- Saves a stable city code on each order (
_egydevinfo_egypt_billing_city_codeand_egydevinfo_egypt_shipping_city_code) for developers and courier tools. - Compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.
Works with the normal WooCommerce address
The plugin keeps WooCommerce’s own fields: the governorate is the standard State field and the city is the standard City field. Courier plugins and shipping zones that read the standard address keep working. Because zones still work at governorate level, you can also use courier plugins’ own zone settings as usual.
Installation
- Install and activate WooCommerce, then this plugin.
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping, open your Egypt zone and add Egypt Rates by Location.
- Go to WooCommerce > Egypt Rates and enter your prices.
Faq
No. Enter one price per governorate, then only the cities that are different. Empty cities use the governorate price.
The plugin uses the standard WooCommerce State and City fields, so plugins that read the normal address can work with it. Some courier plugins replace the city field with their own list; if you use one, test checkout and turn off this plugin’s dropdown or the courier’s one. Compatibility with every courier plugin cannot be guaranteed.
The block has no city dropdown. On stores whose base country is Egypt, the plugin shows the classic checkout form on the checkout page instead (changeable under Egypt Rates > Settings). Shipping prices work with the block either way.
By default the order still goes through and the governorate price is used. You can require a listed city in Settings.
No. There are no external requests, tracking or accounts.
