This plugin also loads the Apple Pay JavaScript SDK from Apple’s CDN to enable Apple Pay as a payment option in checkout flows when Hosted Fields integration is enabled.

What is the service and what is it used for?

Payment session and authorization data is exchanged with Apple’s servers when the customer initiates and completes Apple Pay payment.

  • The SDK is loaded from Apple’s CDN on checkout page load only when Hosted Fields and Apple Pay are enabled, regardless of whether the customer uses Apple Pay.
  • Payment session data (merchant validation, payment token) is exchanged with Apple’s servers when a customer selects Apple Pay and authorizes the payment.
  • Apple may collect device and browser context as part of this process, subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
