Simple and basic plugin that let you export Featured images from posts or custom post types into a WordPress xml so you can import them in other sites using the WordPress importer tool

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Click the Upload link
  3. Click Browse and locate the featured-images.x.x.zip file
  4. Click Install Now
  5. After WordPress installs, click on the Activate Plugin link

You’re done!

Where do I find this great tool in my wp-admin?

Just go to Tools-> Export Featured images

Works in WP 5.7.2. I don't understand why the standard WP export doesn't export featured images though... But this plugin does so.

This plugin is perfect and works with WP 5.4.2. I think you should update the readme.txt file and declare the compatibility with the last WP version. It's amazing after so many years, it still works.
