FileOrganizer is a lightweight and easy-to-use WordPress file manager. Organize and manage your WordPress files with FileOrganizer without any control panel or FTP access. You can access, upload, download, edit, delete, zip, cut, copy, and paste files even outside the WordPress root directory.

How to install FileOrganizer

Go To your WordPress install -> Plugins -> Add New Button -> In Search Box, Look For FileOrganizer -> Click on Install.

I gave this plugin a try (it was included as Pro-Version in my hosting).

You have many options to add/remove folders. move files and so on.
The screen design and handling is really good.

You have the option to create roles restrictions (which takes quite some time).

What I don't like

When a hacker finds a way inside wp-admin you are completely lost. Through this plugin a hacker can put on any path of the wp installation malicious code and files. This plugin is not limited to the upload folder, it can access any part.

When it comes to daily work it is not that practical. During the daily work (like creating page or post), you cannot select in which folder the picture should be uploaded. You have to upload and later go inside the plugin settings and move the file to the right folder.

My Summary

It has a good set of functionality and options to use. But I don't like the security concerns and the not so practical handling.
Deinstalled and used another plugin.
