With just one click, Force Reinstall sets the plugin or theme as needing an update, which forces WordPress to reinstall the plugin or theme. Automatic installation

The easiest way to install Force Reinstall is through the automatic installation option. To do this, simply log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu, and click on “Add New.”

In the search field, type “Force Reinstall,” and click on “Search Plugins.” Once you find our plugin, you can view details such as the rating, description, and the current version. To install the plugin, click on “Install Now,” and let WordPress handle the file transfer for you.

Manual installation

  1. Download the plugin zip file from the source (such as the WordPress plugin repository).
  2. Log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu, and click “Add New.”
  3. Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page.
  4. Choose the plugin zip file you downloaded and click “Install Now.”
  5. Once the installation is complete, click the “Activate Plugin” button.
  6. You can now access the plugin through “Force Reinstall” option in the admin menu.

What if I need to reset changes made to a plugin or theme?

You can simply use the Force Reinstall option to revert any changes made to the plugin or theme back to its original state.

Why do some plugins or themes not have the Force Reinstall option?

This is likely because the plugin or theme was not installed from WordPress.org and therefore does not have a download link available.

Will my data be affected when I use the Force Reinstall option?

No, your data will not be affected. The Force Reinstall option only replaces the plugin or theme files and does not modify any data or settings associated with the plugin or theme.

We found this plugin a month ago and it's been insanely helpful for both cleaning off malware and repairing botched plugin updates.

The only issue we've found is that it can't reinstall premium plugins whose licenses have expired, but that's not really the plugin's fault.

Overall, it's a fantastic tool to have on hand.

Very useful. But it still keeps asking for a 5-star rating and usage collection which is annoying. I now keep it disabled until I need it.

Pretty good at what it does, but could nag less

When I add a plugin to one of my WP sites, the last thing I think about is the nag screens I'm going to get. Unfortunately, it seems like I need to start thinking about it more and more, because with every plugin trying to manipulate me into rating it at 5 stars, I'm starting to have trouble seeing the WP admin interface.

The plugin does what it does well enough. This may have been a 5-star review... but not only is the nag persistent, it seems to be somewhat broken in the latest version and doesn't go away.

So... you nagged me for my review? Here it is. I hope you got all you wanted.

I reinstalled all my plugins using the plugin. Reinstallation is done in two steps: Force reinstallation on the plugins page and then you have to go to the dashboard update page and start the updates which will do a reinstall for the previously marked plugins. Very clever solution.
