Installation

Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/gallery-for-ultimate-member directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress
Use the Ultimate Member -> UM Gallery screen to configure the plugin

How many photos can my users upload?

Users are able to upload an unlimited amount of photos.

Is it easy to upgrade to Pro Version?

Yes. You can download the pro version from Gallery for Ultimate Member

Where can I place the translation file?

The files can be placed in wp-content/languages/plugins/ with the file name gallery-for-ultimate-member-en_US.mo.

Does the media files get added to WordPress Media?

No. Files are added to a custom folder in the wp-content folder and are not saved as a post type but in a custom table.

Will there be video uploads?

There aren’t any immediate plans to introduce video uploads such as MP4 at this stage.

There's no Gallery tab and no gallery field. It doesn't work at all.

The plugin is very easy to use and works straight out of the box, I just wish there's an options for user to directly upload mp4 videos instead of embedding YouTube. If there's an option to upload mp4 I would pay for it.

Not Working As Advertised

Feeling a little ripped off here to be honest. I paid for this plugin based on what it was advertised to do. Found that it does NONE of what they claimed and it's extremely frustrating to get it working properly. Nightmare plugin! Got NO support

Doesn't show gallery icon on tab... Therefore, useless!

It seems to work exactly as I planned to use it on the demo, however, the plugin never shows the gallery icon/tab in UM. So therefore, users can't actually upload or create albums with this plugin. A damn shame. Buyer beware.

It's a good plugin

I tried the free version and was pretty happy with it. So I bought the pro version and have to say that the plugin does exactly what it is supposed to do: all features are exactly as described and work smoothly. I also had little difficulty with the integration of shortpixel AI. After the purchase, I also contacted the manufacturer with a few comments and got an answer just a few minutes later - even though I asked on a saturday! In short: I can only recommend Gallery for Ultimate Member. In terms of layout, maybe a few things could be improved. But I have the impression that the manufacturer takes his job very seriously and is constantly developing the plugin. As far as I can tell so far, he is also open to customer inquiries. So give this plugin a try - I think it's well worth it.

OK and to be clear here I have the Pro version and due to the reviews I wanted to add my review which is far more positive than the other reviews here. It is far better than the 1 and 2 star reviews on here. I have been using the Pro version for a while and it works for me after I am able to style how it displays on the front end that suits. The fact I can shows how flexible the front end view can be. It is not most pretty styles to start with but it can look a heck of a lot different when you add your own styling. The modal view is plain awful as one example, even in the pro version so I have completely redesigned that part of it. It would be better with more style options built in, such as masonry view, aspect ration thumbs, alternative modal layouts etc. Having the option for only one album is good as I did not want users to have multiple albums. Support has been fine with a reply usually within a day (two at most), so I can't complain about that ;). I have also commissioned a custom plugin for my own needs which was well communicated and the end result perfect. The use for members has been simple to use and understand. So to sum up it works, it can be pretty and should be by default. Users do not complain and for the time being it works. 4 stars instead of 5 for what I have mentioned above. It is worth more than the 1 or 2 star reviews on here. Try it.

Poor quality

The plugins of this author are of poor quality, causing more problems than they have any useful use. With every update you have to be afraid that many new bugs will be installed. If you want to save your money and your nerves should look for alternatives! I had bought all the plugins and therefore can not advise anyone to spend their time here. You have to wait months for the promised bug fixes or they are completely ignored.

Paid for custom work and nothing worked

I paid $200.00 to Karizmatic LLC which is the owner of this company (suiteplugins.com) and the custom work didn't last a day. Now I can't get ahold of anyone on their end so here's a review.

It's hard to believe that something as basic as user galleries still doesn't exist for Ultimate Member. I was so happy to find this plugin, I've got the Pro version very quickly, and can confirm that both versions are extremely buggy and appear half-finished. Too bad, as the idea behind it (ajax multiupload, likes, comments, albums) is very, very good. Developer has originally responded very quickly to my support request, and had published an update within a couple of days, so I feel a little guilty about this review. Unfortunately, the update fixed one thing and broke several additional ones, and the developer seems to have lost interest in fixing or improving the plugin any further.
