Genesis Simple Share is created to be simple and easy to use within your Genesis child theme. We have tried to focus on making default options and initial setup a breeze.

The default settings should automatically enable the share icons on posts. You may wish to make some changes so in your WordPress dashboard hover over the Genesis menu item and click the Simple Share menu item in that submenu.

Once there you can choose which post types Simple Share will be active on, if it should show on archives, and which icons to enable. You can also drag and drop the icons to change the order they will display in on your site. You may wish to add your Twitter user name to the twitter icon settings. This will add a via: @username after the share text on Twitter. You may also add a URL to an image to use as the default image.

Installation

Download the latest version of the Genesis Simple Share plugin and upload as a new plugin within your WordPress dashboard or via FTP to the wp-content/plugins folder and then activate the plugin.

Good Sharing Plugin

Simple sharing plugin and easy to configure.

Not great functionality

This plugin pulls my featured image, not my Pinterest image (which is coded for Pinterest). Also, there's no option for email. Too bad, I was hoping it would have worked better.

Nice little plugin

To the Developers: Nice little plugin you have there. I got tripped up initially by not properly setting the 'Icon Display Position' option. I like the fact that the plugin allows users to target custom post types (both single- and archive-template pages). The 'Live Preview' feature in the Admin is cool too. It allows plugins users to preview how the social icons will appear on the front end. Thanks for developing and sharing this plugin with the community.

Looks great but Pinterest issue

The share icons look fantastic on my site, very clean and minimal, and the top 'n' bottom placement is great too. So I'd love to keep using the plugin but I cannot because it only lets people pin my posts' Featured Image to Pinterest. Another share plugin I'm using instead lets the reader choose from all the images in a post, so they can choose the vertical one I made for Pinterest. If Genesis Simple Share allowed this I'd come back to it, because it does look beautiful. Unfortunately, functionality is more important to me right now. I don't want to be negative. I've not been using Genesis for long but I love it so far and do appreciate all the work that goes into everything. Again, if you can make the Pinterest share behave as described above, I think you'd make a lot of bloggers more likely to use this plugin.

Can't Beat Genesis

While I agree that some of the icons aren't particularly attractive, I choose to use this plug in because I develop exclusively with Genesis themes and when choosing a plug in, quality is always a consideration. So, it was a no brainer for me as I know that both Brian and Nathan wouldn't let anything out the door unless it was done right.

...but the G+ icon should be updated and there's a conflict with Genesis Design Palette Pro: if you have changed the link color in Design Palette, it also affects Simple Share. Everything else is great.
