Imganva SEO Images
Imganva SEO Images
Description
Imganva SEO Images automates two repetitive tasks that happen every time you upload an image to the WordPress Media Library.
WebP Conversion
Newly uploaded JPG, JPEG, and PNG images are automatically converted to WebP using whichever image engine your server supports — Imagick is used first, GD is the fallback. You can set the output quality and choose whether to keep the original file alongside the WebP or replace it entirely.
SVG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, PDF, HEIC, PSD, and video files are ignored — the plugin only touches formats where conversion makes sense.
SEO Metadata Generation
When you upload a file named best-image-compressor-online-2026.jpg, the plugin automatically fills in the media Title, Alt Text, Caption, and Description as Best Image Compressor Online 2026. Hyphens and underscores are replaced with spaces, the extension is removed, and the result is converted to Title Case.
Each metadata field can be enabled or disabled individually so you only generate what you need.
What this plugin is not
This is not an image optimisation suite. It does not scan or modify your existing media library. It does not compress, resize, or serve images. It processes newly uploaded images only — the moment they arrive in your media library.
Settings
All options are available under Settings Imganva SEO Images:
- Enable or disable WebP conversion
- Set WebP output quality (50–100, default 85)
- Keep the original file or replace it with the WebP
- Enable or disable metadata generation for each field individually
- View server status (image engine and WebP support)
- Preview how a filename will be converted before uploading
Installation
- Upload the

- Go to Settings Imganva SEO Images to configure your preferences.
- Upload an image to the Media Library — the plugin handles the rest.
Faq
No. Imganva SEO Images only processes images at the moment they are uploaded. It never scans your existing media library or modifies images that are already there.
JPG, JPEG, and PNG. All other formats — including SVG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, PDF, HEIC, PSD, and videos — are left untouched.
The plugin detects WebP support automatically on the Server Status section of the settings page. If neither Imagick nor GD can produce WebP on your server, the original image is kept and the upload completes normally. Nothing is broken.
Keep Original leaves the uploaded file on disk and generates the WebP alongside it. WordPress continues to point to the original file. The WebP is available for server-level content negotiation or CDN use.
Replace Original deletes the original file after conversion and updates WordPress to point to the new WebP file. Use this if you want WebP everywhere and have no need to retain the source file.
Yes. Title, Alt Text, Caption, and Description can each be toggled on or off independently in the settings page.
The plugin removes the file extension, replaces hyphens and underscores with spaces, collapses duplicate spaces, trims whitespace, and converts the result to Title Case. A file named best-image-compressor-online-2026.jpg becomes Best Image Compressor Online 2026.
The plugin has not been explicitly tested on WordPress multisite. Settings are stored per site using the standard WordPress Options API, so basic functionality should work, but multisite is not officially supported in version 1.
WebP conversion adds a small amount of processing time per upload depending on your server’s image engine and the size of the uploaded file. For typical web images this is negligible. Metadata generation adds virtually no measurable overhead.
