Description

ImmoWP Diagnostic DPE GES displays the French energy performance (DPE) and greenhouse gas emission (GES) labels on your real estate listings, through a configurable shortcode. The rendering is pure CSS, without any image, and reproduces the official chart of the diagnostic de performance énergétique: energy scale from A to G, climate scale, consumption in kWh/m².year, emissions in kg CO₂/m².year, estimated yearly energy costs and the mandatory legal notices.

It is developed by ImmoWP, publisher of the ImmoWP real estate gateway for WordPress, which synchronizes listings from more than 50 professional real estate software packages (Hektor, Apimo, Immofacile, Ubiflow, Netty, Whise…), and of the free ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière plugin. With the latter, the labels appear automatically on every property page, with no configuration. It also works with any real estate theme or plugin: simply enter the names of your custom fields.

Features

  • Pure CSS DPE and GES charts with arrows
  • Alternative “label only” display when the feed only provides the letter (no numeric consumption)
  • Thresholds compliant with the French decrees of 31 March 2021 and 25 March 2024 (small dwellings ≤ 40 m² and altitude ≥ 800 m)
  • DPE 2027 ready: the reform of 1 January 2027 (electricity conversion coefficient lowered from 1.9 to 1.7) changes the assessor’s calculation, not the displayed classes; the plugin faithfully renders the new label
  • The label of the official diagnostic always takes precedence over the recalculation from numeric values
  • Mandatory legal notices: Géorisques and “logement à consommation énergétique excessive” for classes F and G
  • Flexible shortcode with direct values or meta keys
  • Complete settings page
  • Responsive display (side by side on desktop, stacked on mobile)
  • Customizable texts (Géorisques, not subject to DPE, cost template)
  • Configurable Géorisques notice with clickable link

Shortcode examples

Basic usage (uses the meta keys configured in the settings):

[immowp_dpe_ges]

Direct values:

[immowp_dpe_ges dpe="250" ges="35"]

With estimated costs and dates:

[immowp_dpe_ges dpe="180" ges="28" montant_min="1200" montant_max="1800" date_dpe="2024-01-15" date_reference="01/01/2024"]

Custom meta keys:

[immowp_dpe_ges dpe_key="my_dpe_field" ges_key="my_ges_field"]

Labels only (feeds that do not provide the numeric consumption):

[immowp_dpe_ges dpe_lettre="D" ges_lettre="B"]

Property not subject to DPE:

[immowp_dpe_ges soumis_dpe="false"]

Full example:

[immowp_dpe_ges dpe="230" ges="40" montant_min="1100" montant_max="1600" date_dpe="2024-03-10" date_reference="01/01/2024" surface="85" altitude="150" zone_climatique="H1"]

Available attributes

  • dpe / dpe_key — DPE value in kWh/m².year
  • ges / ges_key — GES value in kgCO₂/m².year
  • dpe_lettre / dpe_lettre_key — DPE label (A to G). It takes precedence over the recalculation: provide it so that the display stays faithful to the official diagnostic
  • ges_lettre / ges_lettre_key — GES label (A to G). It also takes precedence over the recalculation
  • montant_min / montant_min_key — Minimum yearly energy cost
  • montant_max / montant_max_key — Maximum yearly energy cost
  • date_dpe / date_dpe_key — Date of the diagnostic
  • date_reference / date_reference_key — Reference date of energy prices
  • surface / surface_key — Reference surface in m². Provide it: below 40 m², it triggers the “small dwellings” thresholds of the decree of 25 March 2024
  • altitude / altitude_key — Altitude in metres. From 800 m, and in climate zones H1b, H1c or H2d only, the thresholds of classes E and F are raised (decree of 25 March 2024)
  • zone_climatique / zone_climatique_key — 3CL-DPE 2021 climate zone (H1a to H3). Required for the altitude adjustment: the decree restricts it to zones H1b, H1c and H2d, so it is not applied until the zone is known. The formats “H1b”, “H1-b” and “Zone climatique H1b” are accepted
  • soumis_dpe / soumis_dpe_key — Subject to DPE (false/0/non for not subject)

For each attribute, you can either pass the value directly (e.g. dpe="250") or give the name of a WordPress custom field (e.g. dpe_key="my_field"). The default meta keys are configured under Settings > ImmoWP DPE GES.

Official label and recalculation

When the label of the diagnostic is known (dpe_lettre / ges_lettre, or the matching meta keys), it is the one displayed: the plugin only recalculates the class from the numeric values when no label is available. The recalculation starts from rounded values and may differ from the assessor’s document, which is based on exact values.

To go back to systematic recalculation, clear the “DPE label” (and/or “GES label”) field under Settings > ImmoWP DPE GES, then save.

ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière and the ImmoWP gateway

  • ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière (free): property post type, 8 taxonomies, multi-criteria search, OpenStreetMap map, complete property pages. As soon as this DPE GES plugin is active, it takes over the display of the diagnostics on every listing.
  • ImmoWP Gestion Immo Pro: email alerts, favourites, radius search map, social sharing, PDF property sheet.
  • ImmoWP real estate gateway: your properties, photos and diagnostics synchronized automatically from your real estate software to WordPress, with no double entry.
  1. Upload the immowp-diagnostic-dpe-ges folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate the plugin from the “Plugins” menu in WordPress.
  3. Configure the meta keys under Settings > ImmoWP DPE GES.
  4. Use the [immowp_dpe_ges] shortcode in your templates or content.
  1. Complete DPE and GES labels: energy chart from A to G, consumption and emissions, climate scale, estimated yearly energy costs, date of the diagnostic and Géorisques notice.

How do I display the DPE on a property page?

Simply add [immowp_dpe_ges] to the content of your listing. The plugin automatically reads the values from the configured meta fields.

Can I use this plugin with any real estate theme?

Yes, the plugin works with every WordPress theme. Just configure the names of the meta keys matching your theme or real estate plugin.

How are the displayed letters determined?

From the numeric values, according to the regulatory thresholds: strict upper bounds of the decree of 31 March 2021, and adjusted thresholds of the decree of 25 March 2024 when the reference surface is 40 m² or less. The overall letter displayed on the energy scale is the worse of the two performances (energy and climate).

The “small dwellings” table used is the one for dwellings below 800 m of altitude. The specific thresholds of classes E and F above 800 m are applied only when the climate zone (H1b, H1c or H2d) is known.

My feed only provides the DPE letter, without consumption. What happens?

The plugin switches to a display without chart: the energy and climate classes are rendered as label / badge rows, with the official colours. The regulatory charts cannot be drawn without the numeric consumption. Pass the letter through dpe_lettre / ges_lettre, or through the dpe and ges meta keys (default values, configurable in the settings).

Does the plugin use images?

No, the rendering is 100% CSS. No image is loaded, which guarantees optimal performance.

Is the plugin compatible with the DPE reform of 1 January 2027?

Yes. The French decree of 19 August 2026 lowers the primary energy conversion coefficient of electricity (from 1.9 to 1.7) as of 1 January 2027. This change happens in the assessor’s calculation, upstream of the display: the thresholds of classes A to G do not change. Enter the new consumption and the new label of the diagnostic, the plugin renders them as they are. Since version 1.6.0, the official label always takes precedence over the recalculation.

Does it work with ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière?

Yes, with no configuration: ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière detects this plugin and delegates the display of the diagnostics on every property page to it. The default meta keys already match its fields. With the ImmoWP gateway, the values are filled in automatically from your real estate software.

Can I use it with a third-party real estate theme or another plugin?

Yes. Under Settings > ImmoWP DPE GES, enter the names of the custom fields in which your theme stores the consumption, the emissions and, if available, the label. You can also pass the values directly as shortcode attributes.

Au Top ! Le meilleur plugin DPE Actuel

By apimmovation on April 20, 2026

1.6.2

  • WordPress.org listing completed: screenshots, banner, translation catalogue (languages/immowp-diagnostic-dpe-ges.pot), links to the ImmoWP documentation and to the ImmoWP Gestion Immobilière plugin. The readme is now written in English, with a French translation available on translate.wordpress.org.
  • Compatibility note for the DPE reform of 1 January 2027 (electricity coefficient 1.7): no threshold change, the official label is still rendered as it is.
  • Plugins screen: “Settings” and “ImmoWP website” links on the plugin row; “Go further with ImmoWP” box at the bottom of the settings page.
  • Bottom legend of the energy chart escaped at output (Plugin Check). Compatibility verified with WordPress 7.1. No change to the engine or to the display of the diagnostics.

1.6.1

  • Fix: a yearly energy cost entered with a thousands separator (“1.200”) was read as €1.2 per year. Thousands separators are now removed before conversion, whatever the entered format.
  • Fix: when the cost field contains a refusal (“NC”, “Nous consulter”), the estimate block displayed “between €0 and €0 per year”. It is now simply omitted. A unit or symbol attached to the amount (“1200 €”) is still accepted, as it is a common entry.
  • New: the immowp_dpe_ges_renders_georisques() function lets a theme or a display plugin know whether this plugin renders the Géorisques notice itself. Without it, unchecking “Display the Géorisques notice” in the settings could remove a mandatory notice from the listing (article L. 125-5 of the French environment code): the display plugin, assuming this plugin was in charge, did not take over.

1.6.0

  • Fix: the label of the official diagnostic (dpe_lettre / ges_lettre) is never overwritten by the recalculation any more. It was ignored as soon as a numeric value existed, which made the display diverge from the assessor’s document (a displayed consumption of 110 with a real CEP of 109.6 switched from B to C). The mandatory notice of classes F and G is still computed on the worse of the two scales: an energy label inconsistent with the climate class cannot make it disappear.
  • Fix: the notice “logement à consommation énergétique excessive” (article L. 173-2 of the French construction and housing code) was missing from the “label only” display introduced in 1.5.0, i.e. precisely the mode of feeds that do not transmit numeric values. It is also added when only the climate scale is numeric.
  • Fix: the Géorisques notice (article L. 125-5 of the French environment code) disappeared from the “property not subject to DPE” and “DPE in progress” displays. It is due in every real estate listing and is now rendered in all cases.
  • Altitude taken into account: above 800 m in climate zone H1b, H1c or H2d, the thresholds of classes E and F are raised (decree of 25 March 2024, appendix 1 § 1.2.1.2 and § 1.2.2.2). The altitude attribute was collected but unused. As the decree restricts this adjustment to these three zones, it is only applied when zone_climatique establishes them: altitude alone is not enough.
  • The “small dwellings” thresholds of non-integer surfaces are now obtained by linear interpolation, as the decree provides, instead of rounding the surface to the nearest square metre.
  • Values are rounded down to the integer for display as well as for classification, in accordance with appendix 5 of the decree of 31 March 2021.

1.5.1

  • Fix: on a site whose settings had been saved before 1.5.0, the label meta keys did not exist in the options and the letters were never read. The dpe and ges metas are now read by default, without having to save the settings page again.

1.5.0

  • New dpe_lettre and ges_lettre attributes (meta keys dpe_lettre_key / ges_lettre_key, dpe and ges by default) for feeds that only transmit the label of the diagnostic.
  • Alternative display without chart when no numeric value is available: the classes are rendered as label / badge rows inheriting the colours and typography of the theme. These properties previously displayed “DPE in progress”.
  • When only one of the two scales is numeric, the label provided for the other one is taken into account in the overall class and displayed below the charts.

1.4.0

  • Fix: the upper bounds of the classes are now strict, in accordance with the decree of 31 March 2021 (class A if value < 70, class B if 70 ≤ value < 110, etc.). A consumption of 110 kWh/m².year was classified B instead of C; the shift affected every value falling exactly on a threshold (70, 110, 180, 250, 330, 420 and 6, 11, 30, 50, 70, 100).
  • “Small dwellings” thresholds of the decree of 25 March 2024 taken into account (dwellings with a reference surface of 40 m² or less, altitude below 800 m). The thresholds are adjusted automatically as soon as the surface attribute or the matching meta key is filled in.
  • Decimal values are accepted (“110,4” as well as “110.4”) and rounded to the nearest integer for display, instead of being truncated.

1.3.0

  • Fix: the GES chart displayed the overall DPE letter instead of its own climate class (a dwelling at 108 kWh/m².year and 3 kg CO₂/m².year displayed B / B instead of B / A).
  • Compact display: the DPE and GES charts are now side by side on a single row on desktop (stacked below 880px).
  • Visual redesign of both charts (cards with border and shadow, GES value split into number/unit).

1.2.1

  • Display improvements.

1.0.0

  • Initial release.
