How It Works
- Install & activate the plugin
- Go to InfoChat Settings and add your AI API key
- Click “Analyze Website Now” to index your content
- The chat widget appears on your website — visitors can ask questions and get instant answers
- Leads are captured and viewable in InfoChat Leads
Optional: CRM Integration
The free version includes a built-in lead management system. If you use an external CRM, you can optionally connect it:
- InformSuite CRM (recommended) — erp.informsuite.com
- HubSpot
- Salesforce
- Zoho CRM
- Pipedrive
- Custom API / Webhook
CRM integration requires an active account with the respective CRM provider. No plugin upgrade is needed — simply enter your CRM API credentials in the settings.

You need an API key from one of these providers:
- Google Gemini (recommended — free tier available)
- OpenAI (GPT-4, GPT-3.5-turbo)
- Anthropic (Claude)

This plugin connects to external third-party services. By using these services, you agree to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Custom API / Webhook
* Sends lead data to a URL you configure in the settings.
Data Handling
- All chat conversations and lead data are stored in your WordPress database
- Data is only sent to external services you explicitly configure (AI provider and/or CRM)
- No data is collected by the plugin author
- No analytics or tracking is included in this plugin
- The plugin sets one cookie (
infochat_session) to maintain the chat session (expires in 24 hours) - IP addresses are collected solely for rate limiting purposes
Privacy Policy
InfoChat stores all data in your WordPress database. The plugin does not send any data to the plugin author or any third party except the AI provider and CRM you explicitly configure. See the “Third-Party Services” section above for details on what data is sent to each service.
Site administrators are responsible for:
* Informing visitors about the use of AI chat and data collection in their privacy policy
* Ensuring compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable data protection regulations
* Configuring appropriate data retention policies
Installation
- Upload the
infochatfolder to/wp-content/plugins/or install via the WordPress plugin installer - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen
- Go to InfoChat Settings to configure your AI API key
- Click “Analyze Website Now” on the InfoChat Website Context page to index your content
- The chat widget will appear on your website automatically
