Description
An easy way of telling apart different installs of WordPress ( e.g. live/production/local ) via the admin bar. Super admins see a colour coded machine name in the admin bar, with an IP submenu. Mobiles will see a colour coded square dot
Installation
- Upload
local-indicator.phpto the/wp-content/plugins/directory - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

This works great when working on multiple copies (local and staging, for instance) of a site. Shows you right in the admin bar which IP you're on, and conveniently indicates your version of PHP as a bonus.
Note: Still seems to work fine for 4.7.5
