Description

WordPress hosting companies are not optimized for high-volume email sending, which may result in some of your emails not getting delivered. MailerSend’s dedicated SMTP server will ensure that your forms, account notifications, e-commerce orders, and other transactional emails get delivered. By using this official SMTP plugin, you will:
* Improve your email deliverability
* Protect your domain reputation
* Learn more about your recipients

Why use MailerSend rather than WordPress to send emails?

  • Most WordPress hosting services use the PHP mail() function to send emails. But different email configurations between web hosts mean that they may not be optimized for deliverability.
  • MailerSend takes care of email delivery so your emails reach your customers safely. Plus, you get a dashboard that shows you important data about your emails and how their performance can be improved.
  • For more information, read this blog article about why WordPress and WooCommerce might not send your emails every time.

What do I need to get started?

To send emails, you only need to sign up for a MailerSend account and add a verified domain. For a step-by-step guide, check out our help article on getting started with MailerSend.

How do I set up automatic transactional emails?

Create a MailerSend account, enable SMTP for your verified domain, and add it to your plugin. You can now focus on growing your brand and let MailerSend take care of delivering your emails.

Is this plugin free?

Yes! You can send up to 3,000 emails/month with MailerSend for free as well. For a higher volume of emails, you can pick from pay-as-you-go plans without long-term commitments. Premium plans start from $30/month for 50,000 emails/month. Compare the different plans here.

Can you add a new feature to this plugin?

We’re open to suggestions and feedback to improve the plugin. You might see your request in a future version! Talk to us here.

Plugin Ok, company not

By Nico_S on November 5, 2024

As far as I could see, the plugin seems to work Ok, it's a shame I can't say the same for the 'practices' of the company.

Great Plugin Needs Some Polish

By savagemic on April 12, 2023

The mailersend application is fantastic. I can't speak highly enough about deliverability and functionality.

However, if you are using this as a transactional email system for WooCommerce you cannot use the mailersend templates (which are particularly good) and have Mailersend send other WordPress-related emails, such as comment notifications and other emails such as Gravity Form entries.

You cannot run this plugin and the MailerSend WooCommerce plugin together as it will create a critical WordPress error on transactional email sends.

This seems like an oversight and I'm not really sure why these two plugins cannot be one and handle not only transactional WooCommerce but also WordPress emails.

Easy to use. Works like a charm!

I don't understand why reviewers gave this plugin a negative review "for not working" because it works perfectly. They must have forgotten to verify their account with MailerSend.

The domain verification and account approval took less than a day to complete and I could send out emails in a blink of an eye. I switched to MailerSend because my Namecheap SMTP took twice the amount of time to post my contact form. With MailerSend, form submission takes 3-4 seconds.

Kudos and thumbs up to the developers! I highly recommend MailerSend!

Crappy plugin. Can't even begin to use it properly.

I have a mailersend account. I checked my creds many times and set them correctly in the plugin. But every time I test I get "wp_mail_failed - SMTP Error: Could not authenticate."

Great solution for WordPress

By rastrolab on December 21, 2022

MailerSend's SMTP plug in made it easy for us to integrate email in our website. Easy to set up, and great support. They also have well design email templates to make the job easier. We've been using it for a 5 months not and we're happy with the service. Great for newbies and no-coders too.

Basic features only, I need more to use the plugin for more projects

By Olaf Lederer (finalwebsites) on May 2, 2023

<p>I'm using MailerSend as transactional email provider because they offer some great features that other providers don't have.<br />Beside this they have a great deliverability, sending speed and the MailerSend interface is really nice.</p> <p>The plugin does a good job, but it's much to basic in my opinion.<br />I'm missing features like:<br />- Import / export settings<br />- Custom email headers<br />- a simple log file (now I need to check every issue via the MailerSend portal)</p> <p>And why sending emails via SMTP and not via the MailerSend API?</p>

Could not authenticate.

By Terence Milbourn (PubDirLtd) on April 4, 2022

Two of the other SMTP plugins in the repository work absolutely fine with the same credentials, but all I can get from this plugin is "wp_mail_failed - SMTP Error: Could not authenticate."
