MailPoet Newsletters – Mandrill Spam and Bounce Cleaner

If you use the MandrillApp service to send your MailPoet (formerly Wysija) newsletter emails, then this is a great add-on for you. In order to keep your Mandrill reputation high (which affects your rate limit for sending) you must be sure that Mandrill bounces, spam complaints, and unsubscribes are wiped from your newsletter.

MailPoet will not receive spam complaints that were sent to Mandrill so it’s best to get ALL of the spam complaints out of your newsletter before your Mandrill reputation drops.

MailPoet Mandrill Spam and Bounce Cleaner allows you remove all of the errors, bounces, rejections, spam complaints, unsubscribes from your newsletter list. It also allows you to compare the bounces, unsubscribes between MailPoet and the Mandrill API for reconciliation purposes.

There are 3 ways to install this plugin:

1. The super easy way

1. In your Admin, go to menu Plugins > Add
2. Search for mailpoet mandrill cleaner
3. Click to install
4. Activate the plugin
5. A new sub-menu Mandrill Cleaner will appear in your Admin under the MailPoet main menu.

2. The easy way

1. Download the plugin (.zip file) on the right column of this page
2. In your Admin, go to menu Plugins > Add
3. Select the tab “Upload”
4. Upload the .zip file you just downloaded
5. Activate the plugin
6. A new sub-menu Mandrill Cleaner will appear in your Admin under the MailPoet main menu.

3. The old and reliable way (FTP)

1. Upload wysija-newsletters-cleaner folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. A new sub-menu Mandrill Cleaner will appear in your Admin under the MailPoet main menu.

   Choose 5 different error types.

   Select date range, then click Search.

4. 

   DataTable displays list of errors.

5. 

   Confirm that you wish to unsubscribe bad emails.
