Description

MarqueeX builds continuously scrolling content in WordPress — logo carousels, announcement bars, news tickers and post or product marquees — with native widgets for Elementor and native blocks for the block editor.

The motion is CSS keyframes, not JavaScript. Each widget script is under a kilobyte, and scripts and styles are registered rather than enqueued, so they load only on pages that actually render a marquee.

Faq

Is MarqueeX free?

Yes, and it stays usable for free. There is no limit on how many marquees you build, no watermark, and no feature that stops working after a period. Pro adds extra controls; it does not switch the free ones off.

What do I get if I buy Pro?

Scroll interactions (mouse wheel and drag-to-scroll), the advanced post query builder, eight extra Animated Heading animations, gradient and image-masked heading text, four extra Word Roller transitions, and the Post Marquee card layout controls. The full list is on the pricing page.

Does it work with Elementor?

Yes — eight native widgets: Image Marquee, Text Marquee, Post Marquee, News Ticker, Animated Heading, Animated Word Roller, Testimonial Marquee and Team Members Marquee. Elementor 3.5 or newer.

Does it work with the block editor?

Yes — five native blocks, which also work in Full Site Editing themes. You do not need a page builder.

Can I use widgets and blocks on the same site?

Yes. Block styles are scoped to their own classes, so a block and its matching Elementor widget can even sit on the same page without their CSS colliding.

Can I show WooCommerce products?

Yes. Products are a public custom post type, so the Post Marquee widget and block both list them as a source, with featured image, title and meta.

Does Post Marquee support custom post types?

Yes, any public custom post type.

Can I control speed and direction?

Yes — horizontal or vertical, either direction, with per-device speed values, pause on hover, and edge fade masking.

What content can I put in a marquee?

Text, links, images, WordPress posts, custom post types and WooCommerce products. The Infinite Slider block additionally takes any inner blocks you like.

Will it slow my site down?

It is built not to. The animation is CSS keyframes rather than JavaScript, each Elementor widget script is under a kilobyte, and assets are registered rather than enqueued — so a page with no marquee on it loads nothing from MarqueeX.

Does it work with my theme?

It should. MarqueeX styles are scoped to its own classes and inherit your theme’s typography unless you override it.

Added: Pro features are now visible rather than hidden. The eight extra Animated Heading animations, the gradient and image-mask text effects, the four extra Word Roller transitions and the Post Marquee card layouts all appear in their dropdowns marked “(Pro)”, instead of being silently absent for anyone without a license.
Added: A first-run onboarding panel above the settings tabs, pointing you at a first marquee in the block editor or Elementor. Activation lands there; dismiss it and it never comes back.
Added: An Elementor version check. MarqueeX needs Elementor 3.5 or newer; below that the widgets never registered, with nothing to say why.

Removed: Schema.org structured data output. It declared the marquee to be the page’s main content and, when the scrolling text contained a word like “sale” or “offer”, emitted a schema.org Offer for a product that may not exist. Fabricated structured data is a risk to your site’s search standing, not ours.
Changed: Meta description generation is now off by default and has its own setting. It also no longer writes plugin marketing copy into your page description when there is no marquee text to summarize.
Changed: performance.lazy_loading, performance.cache_styles, compatibility.theme_compatibility and compatibility.plugin_compatibility were stored and rendered as switches but read by nothing, and the admin drew a “performance score” from them. All removed. performance.minify_css is now actually implemented.
Fixed: Block detection for the attribution comment and meta description matched only the legacy Infinite Slider, so neither worked with the four blocks added in 0.5.0.
Fixed: The Settings submenu opened the default tab instead of Settings.
Improved: One upgrade destination and one locked-feature card style across the whole plugin, replacing seven hard-coded links (one stale, one a dead #) and three different card designs.
