How does OOPSpam compare to Akismet?

While Akismet focuses primarily on comment spam, OOPSpam offers comprehensive protection for all forms of submissions:
– Protects ALL form types (comments, contact forms, registration, etc.) out of the box
– No need to share user data with third parties
– Includes country blocking and language filtering
– Provides detailed analytics and reporting
– Works silently without impacting user experience
– One API key works across unlimited websites

How does OOPSpam compare to CleanTalk?

OOPSpam offers several advantages over CleanTalk:
– Higher accuracy (99.9%) with advanced machine learning
– No JavaScript required, improving site performance
– Better privacy with optional IP/email analysis
– More granular controls for geographic restrictions
– Unlimited websites with one API key
– 24/7 responsive support

Do I need to solve CAPTCHA or other challenges?

No! OOPSpam works completely in the background without any user interaction required. This means:
– No puzzles or challenges
– No impact on conversion rates
– Full accessibility compliance
– Better user experience

How many API calls do I need?

1 API call = 1 spam check

When someone submits a form on your website, that counts as one API call. The free plan includes 40 calls to test the service. Here’s a general guide:
– The Freelance plan (100,000 API calls) typically covers ~100 websites
– Average website gets 20-50 form submissions daily
– To estimate your needs, count your monthly form submissions across all your websites

Contact us if you need help estimating your needs.

Is OOPSpam GDPR compliant?

Yes! OOPSpam is fully GDPR compliant:
– No data stored on our servers by default
– Optional IP and email analysis
– All logs stored in your WordPress database
– Ability to remove sensitive information from messages

Amazing Service support

By Woodcock02 on November 19, 2025

I noticed a missing country in this amazing indispensable plugin, but wasn't expecting an almost instant reply - and a fix !! The next day an update was issued and the problem sorted.

Incredible support

Thank You

Great plugin for WooCommerce

By customerservice2018 on September 23, 2025

So far, I’m very happy with the results I’m seeing. I had been receiving credit card testing attempts about every 15 minutes, but I haven’t seen one in the past couple of hours. I’ll update my review in the near future with (hopefully) even more positive news.

Excellent tool for Woocommerce

By (gapgb) on September 23, 2025

Reduced our order spam to zero after a spate of attacks. Excellent product and very easy to set up and use.

Even the Free Plan has been great!

By Kim Bydlon (kbydlon) on August 25, 2025

Although the very limited 40 API calls for the Free plan is pretty low given all the spam-my crazies in the world, the ridiculous email notifications our WP admin(s) used to receive as a result of spam submissions seems to be improved. That limit does get reached particularly quickly and then the constant notification box at the top of every WP-Admin page (that can't be turned off without deactivating the plugin entirely) is a bit of nuisance, but the function does seem to be excellent for what little use we have gotten out of it thus far! Currently considering an upgraded plan, and we would encourage you to do the same by giving the Free plan a try first and seeing the difference it makes!

The best anti-spam plugin

By americanshowerglass on July 18, 2025

Solve our problem with spam!

Works very well

By osaegrov on July 15, 2025

I use this together with Contact Form 7 on several sites, and prefer the results from Oopspam to other paid services.

Definitely Works

By allynagle9 on July 7, 2025

I implemented this for my client when other spam filters weren't working so great (Akismet and CleanTalk). After installing this, spam entries were cut down considerably - and the client was happy.

One of the Best plugins to stop spam

By customfit on March 11, 2025

My client's website has been getting attacked with different methods of card testing. They've received around 800 fake orders daily and total of 60,000 in 1 week. All of them had the origin "Unknown". It was impossible to block them, since they all had different IP addresses. Some bots were ordering from another country. I came across this amazing plugin and after installing it with a valid API key I was able to disable WooCommerce orders coming from an Unknown origin. In addition, the plugin allowed us to set up a filter to accept orders from US customers only. This great plugin also helps blocking many spam comments and contact form submissions. I would recommend this plugin for any WordPress site! Their support team is amazing and always ready to help!

It works well but is not practical cost-wise

By alissaesafetyinc on March 7, 2025

I've had it set up for a few weeks and it worked really well! The spam form fills I was getting was extremely aggravating. We don't get a ton but the bogus emails coming in like a lead wastes everyone's time.

Sadly today I hit the 45 free limit and it won't be running anymore. The monthly prices STARTING at $49 shocked and disappointed me. This is something I'd pay $3.99-5.99 a month for (as that's realistically value it provides). To compare- I pay $29/m for the full Adobe marketing cloud. What this plugin provides for and what Adobe provides for less is not even remotely comparable. I'd love to continue using this but the pricing is actually insane.

Stopped all the form and registration spam

By simplywebservices (joe@simplywebservices.com) on March 1, 2025

We were getting a ton of registration and contact form spam. CAPTCHA wasn't doing much to slow it down. Installed OOPSpam and it instantly stopped the spam but allowed valid registrations and contact messages to come through. Thank you!
