Requirements

• WordPress 5.0 or newer

• Active PetBridge account
• JavaScript enabled (including jQuery)

Installation Steps

1. Upload the plugin to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory or install it through the WordPress plugin directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
3. Navigate to PetBridge in the WordPress Dashboard.
4. Follow the setup instructions to connect your PetBridge account.
5. Add PetBridge shortcodes to pages where adoptable pets should appear.

Data is transmitted to the PetBridge service when:

• A visitor uses search or filtering tools on adoption listings
• A visitor submits a Pet Alert request
• An administrator opens the PetBridge settings interface in the WordPress dashboard

Data sent to the service may include:

• Your shelter’s PetBridge Client ID
• Search filters selected by visitors (species, breed, age, sex, size, etc.)
• Basic browser request information required to load embedded content

The plugin itself does not store visitor personal information in the WordPress database.
