  2. Activate the plugin in WordPress admin.
Will this delete my images automatically?

No. The plugin first scans your uploads folder and lists unused images. You choose which ones to delete.

Why does the plugin only scan year-based folders (like 2022, 2023)?

To avoid accidentally deleting files created by other plugins, Pro Uploads Cleaner limits its scan to the standard year-based WordPress media folders (e.g. /uploads/2022/, /uploads/2023/).

Should I take a backup before cleaning?

Yes. Always take a full site backup before deleting files.
