  1. Upload the profile-extra-fields folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin via the “Plugins” menu in WordPress admin.
  3. Go to Profile Extra Fields in your WordPress dashboard to configure the plugin.
  4. Use [prflxtrflds_user_data] shortcode to display user data on pages or posts.

How to add an extra field to the user profile?

Go to “Profile Extra Fields” settings in your dashboard and click “Add a new field”.

Can I reorder the fields?

Yes. With JavaScript enabled, simply drag and drop fields in the “Extra Fields” tab.
You can also define different orders for different user roles.

How to view submitted user data?

Navigate to the User Data tab under the plugin settings to view submitted information.

How to display submitted user data on the site?

Use the shortcode [prflxtrflds_user_data].
You can also filter by:
– user_id: [prflxtrflds_user_data user_id=3,1]
– user_role: [prflxtrflds_user_data user_role=administrator,subscriber]
– display: [prflxtrflds_user_data display=top]
To show the current user’s data: [prflxtrflds_user_data user_id=get_current_user]

I am developing my own plugins and I wanted an easy way to display custom user fields on the Dashboard > Users > Edit User screen. This plugin works well for that. I have not used the other features yet. Thank you for writing it 🙂

Doesn't work at least with dates

I added a simple date field, and then tried to update it from the users view, and it just didn't update. Whenever I refreshed the page, the date was gone.

Easy to use, simple plugin for custom profile fields. Unfortunately lacks clear documentation and instructions on how to use shortcodes properly. Perhaps some detailed examples would be useful. Shortcodes also dont appear to be available to use in gutenberg (included with latest WP version). Had to switch to classic editor to generate shortcodes. For basic usage this plugin is great, but for more advanced functionality we will likely use ACF instead.

We use profile extra fields and updater from BestWebSoft. Extra fields fills in the gaps we had before. We have a problem with the plugin, making our website unaccessible due to an unsupported PHP version. The support team was very responsive and the issue was resolved in no time!
