Remove Footer Credit

Description

Remove or replace footer credits (or any text or HTML in page) before page is rendered. With this plugin there is no need to modify code such as footer.php which if done incorrectly can cause your site to break or new theme updates will stomp over your changes requiring you to remove footer credits on each update.

This plugin has very minimal options to keep things simple and easier to use. You enter the text or HTML that you would like to find in one text box and the text or HTML that you would like to replace in another text box (or nothing to remove). Installation

From WordPress Admin, go to Plugins -> Add New
Search for plugin “Remove Footer Credit”
Install and Activate
Go to Tools -> Remove Footer Credit
Enter text you would like to change in first text box
Enter text you would like to replace in second text box
Click Save

Simple, much simpler than editing

An agency, who'd done a sloppy job, left a protected attribution in the footer. This plugin quickly allowed me to remove that attribution, and I look forward to them noticing, being irked, and not daring to call me.

The plugin is good and works even on free versions of paid themes that are protected from editing, though not 100%. The plugin developer cannot anticipate all the tricks used by theme creators.

It didn't work out as easily as I had expected. Some theme providers do everything to prevent you from deleting their credits. With some quick and competent support, and some careful copy/paste experiments, it finally worked. Just deleting the footer text would have been much easier by adding a little piece of code in the customizer/footer section. But since I also wanted to add something new to the footer, this worked perfectly for me.
