Need Help?

If you have questions or problems with the RWD Image Maps jQuery plugin itself (not the WordPress wrapper for it), go to the jQuery RWD Image Maps plugin page on GitHub.

To manually install the plugin, follow these steps:

  1. Download and unzip the plugin, and upload the ‘responsive-image-maps’ folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory. Or, download the plugin, and upload the ZIP file using the plugin uploader in the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. There is no third step. Your image maps should now be responsive.

Perfect, saved me a lot of time.

I had created an image map with pure html on wordpress, and it was perfect except for the responsive scaling. I thought I was in for a whole redo of it all, but I installed this plug in and all I had to was activate it and bang..everything scaling perfect without me having to do a thing. Thank you so much for this. I hope it continues to work with future wp updates and will check on that when needed, but for now, its works perfectly.

Awesome

August 2020 Still Works

By awalsadja on August 29, 2020

This is the one and only such kind of plugin August 2020, WordPress 5.5, still perfect

No longer works afaict

By pcnoggin on September 21, 2019

I couldn't tell you which version but after one of the latest updates to WordPress, the plugin no longer works for me. It was bound to happen. Email warnings have been issued by WordPress for some time. It hasn't been tested for the last three major releases of WordPress. Looks as though the plugin development and support has been completely abandoned from looking at the support tickets. I have a simple site using this plugin so it's not likely to be an issue of a conflict with another plugin. Still could be something on my end but ... my take: find another avenue to explore. This is not the plugin you are looking for.

Invaluable plugin

I was looking for a solution for responsive image maps inside WordPress as a new user. It works beautifully. My only concern is that it hasn't been updated for a long time. It works just fine at present and I hope future versions don't break it.

November of 2018, still working great on 4.9.8 and Divi

By lydia_b on November 12, 2018

Works just as advertised on wordpress 4.9.8 with the latest Divi theme and Divi pagebuilder. I'm impressed!

Working with 4.9.7

I manually added <map> </map> sections with href sections for three images sized for different screen sizes - one each for tiny, tablet and desktop screen sizes. Before installing the plugin the image map overlay was clearly larger than the displayed image, judging by where in the image display the href url displayed at the bottom of the browser changed as I moved the mouse over the image. It appears that after installing the plugin, the displayed image is now larger, and matches the map of the image.

So simple, so perfect

Still working, and the easiest plugin ever!

2018 And Still Going Strong

It's been 3 years since this plugin was updated and still - not a single deprecated php call, passed the Plugin Inspector (plugin) with flying colors, and we have been using this since 2013 without a hiccup. This is a truly solid plugin.

Auto-magic! ... On WP 4.8 🙂

It just works! 🙂 Brilliant!!! 🙂 Cheers! Lyle
