How It Works

  1. Install the plugin and connect your WooCommerce store
  2. The AI chatbot automatically learns about your products
  3. A chat widget appears on your store for customers

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or higher
  • WooCommerce 7.0 or higher
  • PHP 8.1 or higher
  1. Upload the shopbot-ai-chatbot-for-woocommerce folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install through the WordPress plugin screen.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen.
  3. Click ‘ShopBot AI’ in the left admin menu.
  4. Connect your store by entering WooCommerce REST API credentials.
  5. The chatbot widget will automatically appear on your store!

Generating WooCommerce API keys

  1. Go to WooCommerce Settings Advanced REST API
  2. Click “Add key”
  3. Description: “ShopBot AI”, Permissions: “Read”
  4. Click “Generate API key”
  5. Copy Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
What AI model powers the chatbot?

ShopBot AI uses Claude by Anthropic — one of the most advanced AI models available. It provides helpful, accurate, and safe responses.

Does the chatbot know about my products?

Yes! When you connect your store, ShopBot AI automatically syncs your WooCommerce product catalog including names, prices, descriptions, and categories.

Can I control what the chatbot says?

Yes. You can add custom FAQs to provide specific answers for common questions about shipping, returns, sizing, etc. The AI uses these as its primary knowledge base.

Does this slow down my store?

No. The chatbot widget is loaded asynchronously and weighs only ~5KB. All AI processing happens on our cloud servers.

What languages are supported?

ShopBot AI automatically detects the customer’s language and responds in the same language. It supports all major languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and more.

Is customer data safe?

Yes. We only access your product catalog (read-only). Chat conversations are stored securely and never shared. We don’t access customer personal data, orders, or payment information.
