Sifency Admin Option Builder
Sifency Admin Option Builder
Description
Sifency Admin Option Builder gives you a Option Builder screen where you build option panels by dragging fields into sections – set each field’s ID, label, and (where relevant) a CSS class – with no PHP required.
Every panel you build is rendered, saved, and sanitized through the same engine a developer would otherwise wire up in code (Sifency_Admin_Options_Framework), so the same field-level sanitization, tabs/sections structure, and Customizer bridge apply automatically to anything you build visually.
Option Builder screen
- Create any number of panels, each with its own title.
- Add sections (tabs) and drag fields into them from a type palette: text, textarea, rich text, number, select, button set, image select, color, link color, media, icon, date/time, link, plus label-only heading/subheading/notice rows.
- Reorder sections and fields by drag-and-drop.
- Per panel, choose where it appears: its own page under Settings, in the Customizer, or both.
- Set each field’s ID, label, CSS class, default value, and description directly in the builder – no code editor required.
For theme and plugin developers
The panel-building engine behind the builder is also available directly in PHP, for cases the visual builder doesn’t cover:
Sifency_Admin_Options_Framework::createOptions( 'my_plugin_options', array(
'menu_title' => 'My Plugin',
'framework_title' => 'My Plugin Settings',
) );
Sifency_Admin_Options_Framework::createSection( 'my_plugin_options', array(
'id' => 'general',
'title' => 'General',
'fields' => array(
array( 'id' => 'my_field', 'type' => 'text', 'title' => 'My Field' ),
),
) );
$value = Sifency_Admin_Options_Framework::getOption( 'my_plugin_options', 'my_field' );
Highlights of the engine:
- 20+ field types – text, textarea, number, select, button_set, image_select, color, link_color, background, border, dimensions, spacing, typography, icon, media, wp_editor, datetime, link, backup, group (repeatable rows), plus layout-only heading, subheading, content, and notice fields. The visual builder currently exposes the most commonly used subset of these; composite types (background, border, spacing, dimensions, typography, group) remain available via the PHP API.
- Server-side sanitization for every field type, applied automatically on save – not left to the implementer.
- Tabs and sub-panels –
fieldsetandtabbedfield types let a single section fan out into nested navigation without extra registration calls. - Customizer bridge – pass
'show_in_customizer' => trueon a panel (or choose “Customizer” / “Both” in the visual builder) and its compatible fields appear in Appearance > Customize with live preview, alongside the dedicated settings page. - Filterable rendering –
apply_filters( 'sifency_fw_render_field_{type}', ... )lets you override or add a field type without touching core files. - Zero external dependencies and zero external requests – see the FAQ below.

Yes, via Sifency_Admin_Options_Framework::createOptions() / createSection() – see the Description tab above. This is entirely separate from panels created with the visual builder.
Only if you choose “Customizer” or “Both” for that panel in the builder, and only for the subset of field types the Customizer bridge supports (listed in the Description tab). Everything else remains editable on the dedicated settings page.
Deactivating keeps your data. Uninstalling (deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen) removes every panel’s saved values and the builder layout itself, per uninstall.php.
No. All assets are enqueued from the plugin’s own assets/ folder, using WordPress’s bundled jQuery UI Sortable and Color Picker.
