Allow your members to select additional privacy settings for who can view their profile and it’s visibility on the directory page.

  1. Allow users to hide their profile from the directory page. There is an admin setting to allow or deny this setting site wide.
  2. Allow each Buddypress member to decide which members can see any of their profile tabs.

The options for profile viewing privacy are:

  1. “Only logged in users”: any visitor that isn’t logged in will be redirected to the registration page.
  2. “Only friends”: a visitor who is not a friend views a profile they will see a new tab named private giving them an opporunity to become friends with the member.
  3. “Everyone”: Buddypress functions as if the plugin is not installed.
  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/buddy-press-profile-privacy directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress

Are the profiles hidden from site administrators?

No site administrators or super admins can view all profiles regardless of their settings.

Does this plugin affect hidden profile fields?

No, any profile fields that are hidden will be hidden no matter what the settings are. This plugin is for overall profile privacy.

Does exactly as it says, allows front end users to hide their profiles from the directory on the front end. Would be even better if it allows hidden users to replace their entire profile page with a message like "user is on holidays" because even though they are hidden from the directory, people can still access their profile page directly.

Very nice idea to have possibility to hide profile in buddypress directory... A lot of my members did not want to appear in this directory and as well, in Google directory ! There is only one thing i'd like to have in options : have possibility, as administrator, to activate or not, for all my members, the option "Who can view you profil" Is it possible as well, to redirect to a special page or root web site when someone try to access to a hiden profil ? Thank's again for this job & work I hope now to have an update 😉 Thierry

Very good plugin, has a small issue

The plugin works fine and is very useful, as it provides an important aspect that is missing from BuddyPress. There is the issue that José Caldeira pointed out in support, but thankfully he also provides a patch. I'm sure it will be fixed for good in the next update.

The idea of the plugin is very good, however it needs some work!

SBPP is the perfect plugin for my needs. Had some small compatibility issues but the DEV pushed an update and they are all solved.
