Smart Maintenance Mode is a plugin which allows you to set your site to maintenance mode so that your readers see the Coming Soon page while you can see the actual development of your site. You can create ranges and define the IP range which will see the actual site using Smart Maintenance Mode.

Will Indefintley Break Your Website

This plugin doesn't work. Simply disabling the plugin won't help. Even after you uninstall this plugin your website will be broken forever. Do a backup before installing. Probably the worst plugin ever.

Great plugin.

One improvement suggestion: Make sure the labels match up to the checkboxes when selecting a user role, so you can click the label and the checkbox checks. You just need to wrap the text inside a [label for="role_administrator"] html tag 🙂

I was looking for a plugin that would allow me to simply copy/paste HTML for an already created splash page using bootstrap. This plugin delivered with it's Custom HTML Content option. I simply uploaded the required files to a "splash" directory on my server, updated my links to the css, images, and then pasted my code in! DONE! 100% my own custom maintenance mode page! Love it! The Disable Maintenance Mode for your IP option is perfect for allowing clients to get past the maintenance mode page without having to log is awesome as well!
