Can I change the position of the banner?

Yes! You can choose to display the banner at either the top or bottom of your website. Simply select your preferred position in the plugin settings.

How do I add a call-to-action button?

In the Sticky Banner settings, enter your button text in the “Button Text” field and add your destination URL in the “Button Link” field. The button will automatically appear on your banner.

How do I temporarily hide the banner without deleting my settings?

Simply uncheck the “Show sticky banner on site” box at the top of the settings page and click Save Changes. This will hide the banner from your website while preserving all your configuration (text, colors, button settings, etc.). Check the box again whenever you want to show it.

Can visitors close the banner?

How do I hide the banner on specific pages?

You can exclude specific pages by entering their page IDs (separated by commas) in the “Hide on Pages” field. To find a page ID, edit the page in WordPress and look for post= in the URL bar.

Will this plugin slow down my website?

No! Sticky Banner is optimized for performance. It only loads minimal CSS and JavaScript, and only on pages where the banner is displayed. Scripts are deferred and cached properly.

Is the banner mobile-responsive?

Absolutely! The banner is fully responsive and looks great on all devices, from desktop computers to mobile phones.

Can I use HTML in my announcement text?

Yes, basic HTML is allowed in the announcement text field, so you can add formatting like bold text, links, etc.

Is the plugin translation-ready?

How do I change the banner colors?

Use the color pickers in the plugin settings to customize both the background color and text color. You’ll see a live preview of your changes.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the plugin?

If you deactivate the plugin, your settings are preserved. If you delete the plugin entirely, all settings are automatically removed from your database to keep it clean.

Can I use this for cookie notices or GDPR compliance?

While you can use Sticky Banner to display cookie notices, please note that it doesn’t include specific GDPR compliance features. For full GDPR compliance, consider using a dedicated cookie consent plugin.

Loving this but Would love the option to disable the X

By lighthousemike on January 26, 2025

This plugin looks amazing and works flawlessly. I would love an option to remove the X that allows user to close the bar.

Simple and does the job

By belleisle on May 10, 2020

Works as advertized. Would be great to have a cross to hide the bar, to add CSS to customize the font, the button shape, the text and button colors separately, and the bar height. Pretty cool already !
