Installation

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfer itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of Subscriptions for WooCommerce, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu, and click Add New.

The setup is intuitive, and the plugin integrates well with Stripe.

Exceptional Customer Service and Great Plugin

We use a third party Stripe payment gateway as we didn't have a great experience with the reliability with the official Stripe plugin. I needed a subscriptions plugin that would actually work with this payment gateway and our accounting system. The pro version was apparently compatible with our payment gateway, but I wanted to test everything before buying the pro version. Although they do not provide a trial period for the pro version, if you contact them, they will provide you with 24 hour access to a test account. I was able to install and connect my test payment gateways and sandbox accounting system to make it work and test it. During this period I noticed a few things about how our payment gateway functioned that would not work well for subscribers (the save card option had to be selected and if not, it would not work) Mayank at WP Swing was reachable via WhatsApp acknowledged the issue and fixed if before we bought the pro version! Once testing the Pro version in our Sandbox, we had some further issues due to how tax is managed on our site to work with our accounting system, Mayank was straight on this and made some custom adjustments for us to make it work! I have never experienced responsiveness and assistance for a plugin in, I really feel in safe hands with the WP Swings team and I am rather surprised by the 1 star comments on here, as it is far from my experience. Do the due diligence first, check it works with your other systems and set-up first with their test account they will give you access to before purchasing the pro version. I highly recommend this plugin for subscriptions.

Terrible plugin and subpar support

The plugin doesn't do what it promises to do, even after upgrading to the pro version. Overall, you are much better off going with the official woocommerce subscriptions plugin. Support took three days to finally get back to me (yes, those were business days). If that is how they treat their pro customers, imagine how little support you will get with the free version.

Misleading Product Names, Poor Refund Practices, and Unethical Customer Service

I purchased the “Subscriptions for WooCommerce Pro” and “Membership for WooCommerce Pro” plugins from WP Swings after believing they were the official WooCommerce extensions. Their names and descriptions are very similar to the legitimate ones (“WooCommerce Subscriptions” and “WooCommerce Memberships”) and were wold directly in the WP store, which makes it extremely easy for anyone to assume they’re official products.

Once I realized they were not, I requested a refund 14 days after purchase, which is well within their own 30-day refund policy clearly stated on their website. Instead of honoring that policy, WP Swings repeatedly refused the refund, claiming technical exclusions that don’t apply to my case.

Their support team also tried to convince me to buy another plugin from them instead of processing my refund — a tactic that felt unprofessional and manipulative. I explained multiple times that I had purchased in good faith, but they continued to dismiss my requests.

It’s also important to note that WP Swings is based in India, and they do not appear to follow North American consumer protection standards or refund practices. Despite advertising in U.S. dollars and presenting themselves as a U.S.-based company, they apply restrictive refund conditions that go against what most customers in Canada or the U.S. would expect.

After weeks of back-and-forth, I replaced their plugins with the official WooCommerce extensions, which worked perfectly. Unfortunately, WP Swings still refused to issue the refund.

In my experience, their business practices are misleading and customer-unfriendly. I strongly recommend buying only from the official WooCommerce.com site or verified marketplaces to avoid similar issues.

Does not honor their own return policies

I paid $116 for a WP Swings subscription plugin that lacked essential functionality. Despite their advertised 30‑day refund policy, my refund request—made within 6 days—was denied. Instead, WP Swings tried to upsell me $400 in custom programming for features that should have been included. Their refund policy implies that they will only issue a refund if they cannot fix the issues - even if it requires the customer to pay for a custom paid solution. Even alternative features I tried as a workaround failed to work, and after several days of back and forth with WP Swings, they admitted a lack of functionality. The plugin is useless, and their deceptive practices, upselling tactics, and refusal to honor refunds mirror similar complaints from other customers. Bottom line: waste of money, misleading documentation, and a company I cannot recommend.

I came across WP Swings when looking for a plugin that could handle multi-layer pricing for my online training/learning products in conjunction with WooCommerce on my WordPress site.
Subscriptions for WooCommerce did the trick. It's a simple installation and setup, doesn't overburden with technical language, and effectively does what it says on the tin. I've been very pleased with the product and the tech support available, that I decided to upgrade from the free plugin to the Pro version, to add greater flexibility to my growing business.
