External Services

This plugin is a SaaS connector (per WordPress Plugin Guidelines, Guideline 6) that integrates your WordPress site with the external Tahc service.

The plugin code is fully open source and free (GPLv2). The plugin connects to the Tahc API (https://app.tahc.ai) to provide AI-powered chat functionality. The plugin itself does not process chat messages – all chat functionality is provided by the external Tahc service, which has its own pricing structure.

When the chat widget is enabled, the plugin loads a JavaScript file from:
https://app.tahc.ai/widget.js

Data transmitted to the Tahc service includes:

  • Customer messages and conversations
  • Page URLs where conversations occur
  • Browser and device information for widget display
  • Contact information (if provided by the customer)

This data transmission occurs when visitors interact with the chat widget on your site. No data is sent until a visitor opens or interacts with the chat widget.

Automatic Installation

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin panel
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New
  3. Search for “Tahc Hybrid Chat”
  4. Click “Install Now” and then “Activate”
  5. Go to Settings > Tahc Chat
  6. Enter your Workspace ID (get it from dash.tahc.ai)
  7. Save changes and visit your site to see the chat widget!

Manual Installation

  1. Download the plugin zip file
  2. Log in to your WordPress admin panel
  3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
  4. Choose the downloaded zip file and click “Install Now”
  5. Activate the plugin
  6. Go to Settings > Tahc Chat and configure

Getting Your Workspace ID

  1. Sign up at tahc.ai – it’s free to try!
  2. Log in to your dashboard at dash.tahc.ai
  3. Your Workspace ID is shown in your Settings page
  4. Copy and paste it into the plugin settings

Yes, you’ll need a free account at tahc.ai to use this plugin. The account gives you access to your dashboard where you can train your AI, view conversations, and customize your chat widget.

Yes! The Tahc service offers a 14-day free trial on all plans with no credit card required. You can fully test all features before deciding to subscribe.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $19/month (Starter) for 100 pages/documents. Pro is $39/month for 500 pages and 5 orchestrations. Team is $79/month with unlimited everything and white-label branding. All plans include unlimited conversations.

Does it support multiple languages?

Yes! Tahc automatically detects the language your customer is writing in and responds in that same language. We support 10+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Your AI will use your knowledge base content to respond appropriately in each language.

What are Orchestrations?

Orchestrations are rules that customize your AI’s behavior based on context. For example, you can show a special greeting on your pricing page, automatically escalate messages containing “refund” to a human, or give the AI different instructions for different sections of your site.

How do I customize the chat widget?

Log in to your Tahc dashboard at dash.tahc.ai and go to Widget Theming. You can customize colors, fonts, position, animations, and more to match your brand perfectly.

Can I use this with my existing live chat?

Tahc Hybrid Chat is designed to replace traditional live chat solutions. It combines AI automation with human support in one seamless experience.

How does the AI learn about my business?

During setup, you can connect your website, upload documents, or add a knowledge base. The AI learns from this content to provide accurate, relevant answers to your customers.

What happens when the AI can’t answer?

The AI automatically detects when it’s not confident in its response and offers to escalate to a human agent. Your customers can also request a human at any time with one click.

Is my data secure?

Yes! We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We’re GDPR compliant and follow industry best practices for data protection.

Can I use this on multiple sites?

Each WordPress site needs its own Workspace ID. You can create multiple workspaces in your Tahc account for different websites.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes! We have an iOS app so you can respond to customers from anywhere. Get push notifications when customers need human assistance.
