Title and Nofollow For Links (Classic Editor)

by WPKube

Version: 1.12

Download
Description

The plugin restores the Title field (that was removed from WordPress 4.2) in the insert link popup box and adds a new Add rel="nofollow" to link checkbox to it.

Gutengerg (Block Editor) Note: At the moment it’s not possible to add the functionality to Gutenberg, it’s a different system from the classic editor and it does not have a hook/filter which allows adding custom settings. As soon as it becomes possible to add the functionality to Gutenberg we will update the plugin.

This plugin has been adopted and maintained by WPKube, a popular WordPress resource site, where you can find guides on WordPress plugins, WordPress Hosting, and more.

  1. Upload title-and-nofollow-for-links folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
  3. That’s all.
  1. The insert link popup box when the plugin is activated.

  2. The source code of the added link.

"sponsored" links bug

By davian007 on February 7, 2020

After the updated rel for "sponsored" links the box with 'link to exited content' i pushed behind another box. It seems they forgot to add some height-pixels.

still working fine

Great Concept - However it doesn't work on WP 5.2.2

By Jonathan (vjonathanalonso) on July 1, 2019

The concept looked great, reviews were pretty decent and of course it has never been tested on my version of WordPress. So took the gamble and installed it as I just needed something to add a TITLE to my links. Well didn't work; nothing to drag and drop, link didn't have any add on's, and well other than taking space... it does nothing. I am chalking it up to not compatible with my version.

Works Well

I just installed this on WP 4.9, and it works like a charm. I ended up adding HTML Class manipulation as well, by coping the code in the JS file that added the title field.

Works Like A Charm With Elementor

By Fillip (innerfortune) on April 26, 2018

REVIEW FROM: Elementor Theme Builder on Astra Theme. I drag the "text widget" onto the page, the WP Text editor shows up in the Elementor sidebar. I type: "Source: AFFILIATE LINK" - without quotes. Just as advertised, after selecting the "gear" the box opens and I add my Affiliate link to the URL box and check (√) the following two boxes. (I don't use the 'Title'.) √ Open in new tab √ No-follow Sweet. One thing not to do is add the Affiliate link to the pop-up box when you click the 'link' icon in the tex editor. Instead when the pop-up box appears, click on the 'gear' to get the Title&NoFollow box to pop-up so you can pop-ulate it. The "Rel No-Follow Checkbox plugin" didn't work for me.
