Weight Based Add-on for Shipping by City is a lightweight yet powerful extension for the Shipping by City for WooCommerce plugin. It introduces weight-based pricing logic to city-based shipping rules, allowing WooCommerce store owners to:

  • Define custom shipping rates based on cart weight and city.
  • Combine city-based zones with per-kg surcharges.
  • Configure individual weight charges per city shipping method.

This is especially useful for businesses whose shipping costs vary significantly with weight, such as grocery, hardware, furniture, or logistics-based stores.

⚠️ Note: This is an addon. It requires the Shipping by City for WooCommerce plugin to be installed and activated.

  1. Make sure you have Shipping by City for WooCommerce installed and activated.
  2. Upload this plugin’s folder (weight-based-add-on-for-shipping-by-city) to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
  4. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > City Zones, and you’ll find new weight options available for each city-based method.
Does this plugin work without the “Shipping by City for WooCommerce” plugin?

No. This plugin is an add-on and requires the base plugin to function properly.

Can I define different weight rates for different cities?

Yes! Each city shipping method has its own configuration. You can assign unique weight surcharges to each.

Does it support other shipping plugins?

Currently, it only extends functionality for the Shipping by City for WooCommerce plugin.
