Description

With this plugin, newly written WooCommerce product reviews will be in a pending (hold) status until manually approved.

Product reviews in WooCommerce are immediately available for everyone to see (this can’t be changed without this plugin). WooCommerce ignores the WordPress “comment must be manually approved” discussion setting. With this plugin, new product reviews must be manually reviewed and approved before being visible on the front-end.

Installation

For an automatic installation through WordPress:

Select Add New from the WordPress Plugins menu in the admin area.
Search for Manually Approved Reviews for WooCommerce.
Click Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

For manual installation via FTP:

Upload the woo-reviews-manually-approved folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin from the Plugins screen in your WordPress admin area.

To upload the plugin through WordPress, instead of FTP:

From the Add New plugins page in your WordPress admin area, select the Upload Plugin button.
Select the woo-reviews-manually-approved.zip file, click Install Now and Activate Plugin.

Faq

Are there any settings for Manually Approved Reviews for WooCommerce?

No. All you need to do is install and activate the plugin and new product reviews will require approval. To turn it off, simply deactivate the plugin.

How does it work?

The plugin creates a hook that is triggered whenever someone writes a product review. It then changes the review to a pending (hold) status which requires the review to be manually reviewed and approved (or deleted).

Wait, WooCommerce doesn’t do this?

Nope. New product reviews are immediately available for anyone to read, which is why this plugin exists.

How do I approve the review?

In the WordPress admin area under Comments.

Even though it's been not tested with the latest 3 WP updates, the plugin works like a charm. New user reviews need to be approved like regular comments.

So far, does exactly what it says. Easy install and nothing to configure. A note to others, if you install the plugin, then leave a test review and are LOGGED IN, you will see the stars and most of the review on the site, along with a note "Your review is awaiting approval". But now log out, and reload the page, and you will see the review is NOT there, pending approval. This took me a second to figure out, and I wonder if the other plugin review here that said it doesn't work are from people who didn't figure this out? Anyway, thanks developers, very helpful plugin! Please keep it updated! One last thing, I can't believe woocommerce doesn't do this by default. Unbelievable!

I confirm works very nicely. The person giving the opinion sees it as I would add (thanks to cookies). however, in fact no one else will see this opinion until it is approved by the administrator. Super !!! thanks 🙂

Plugin doesn't work

I tested simultaneously on three different browsers and the reviews still show up without approval. The message "your comment is awaiting for approval" is not showing either.

This plugin works, guys. It's just that the person who leaves the comment, will see one's own comment. However, the comment still needs to be approved for others to see it, which is a nice concept actually.
This is my first plugin review ever, I just wanted to tribute to the plugin author. I can see that you are a great guy. Thanks a lot for the work. Please do keep this updated, thanks again.

Hi!

We can't seem to get the plugin to work, reviews are still posting without approval. We have followed all instructions on installing and activating.
