Convert existing categories to tags or tags to categories, selectively.

  1. Upload the wpcat2tag-importer folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Go to the Tools -> Import screen, Click on Categories and Tags Converter

Perfect plug in. I had a list of words I did not want to manually add as post-tags. This plug in did it for me in about 1 sec. Just a quick copy paste, and -boom- all words are a tag. Thanks for making this!

I like this plugin. Very fast to convert from TAG to CATEGORY and CATEGORY to TAG. Recommended!!!

doesn't quite pick all entries to a tag

I used it to convert tags into categories, but it didn't quite pick up everything. I had to manually go through all 45 posts in this blog to really get it right.

It did get me onto a good start though and tag descriptions were imported successfully as category descriptions, thankfully.
